I created an animated series called My Girlfriend Wants To Kill Me. It's a Psychological thriller. The first two seasons are on my KZbin channel. I've also created another animated series called Her Blood On My Hands. It's a ton of creative work and so many don't understand the time that's put into them. I've learned that when I release one episode a month it allows me no burnouts.

I’ve been practicing animation for 2 years (it took that long because I’m self taught) And now I’m starting to plan out what I want, after planning I’m gonna sketch out what I want in my notebook. This may take months, or even a whole year, so patience is key. Break up your animation schedule, if you’re tired, take a break. Because if you’re tired it’s not gonna look good. Story board is especially important. Make sure you know what you want and how you want it.

I might have a little ‘odd’ schedule for my animated serie. It’s my big passion project and I decided to start with writing the entire script. I’m not joking, 50 pages for each episode completely written out and it took me approximately 17 months (I’m almost done). I varied my work by making some character sheets here and there and that schedule really worked for me. So excited to finally writing the end! Also it was really cool to see my comment on part 1 in this video. Keep up the good work👍

If you want a software that is good to practice on, I recommend Krita. I draw frame by frame animations and the animation tools are better than photoshop. Krita isn't top-notch in the slightest, but you can organize and save presets, change timing, uses the same system as Premiere for home-End and page up and down keys, exports well, free forever, easy to open up and start, tons of help, and more. Plus Krita runs as well as your computer. Krita won't "limit your creativity" with a subscription. It is free and open-source. I would give it a shot. I know this kinda sounds like a commercial... it isn't. It is just a good starting place if you are stuck on ideas.

I'm working on an animated series , and so far , i thought i was good. I thought i was a genius. But after watching your videos , i realize i've did everything wrong ! I've never really planned anything ! Not even animatics or even storyboards. I've did 3 episodes of my show in 2 months , i was fustrated and rushed most of it. Looking back at it and i've just realised made a not really good series , it was full of errors , it didn't look good , it wasn't how i meant it to be , it wasn't even close to the actual "script". It was just a mess... And now , watching your videos explaining me how to plan it and how to do it , i feel like i need to improve alot. I got to thank you so much or else my stuff would keep being garbage. Oh btw i love your series , it's cool :3

i just got done planning my animated series. its gonna be about three teens who have powers, one has ice powers, one can control rocks, and one can make anything that comes to his mind as long as its nonliving. anyways, this guy named Sinthos is their enemy, because Sinthos wants to take their powers away with his dark magic. I still haven't thought of a name for the series yet. the script for the first episode is in progress :)

A lot of things happened this year, but I'm still very much invested in creating an animated series. My biggest progress would have to be gathering a small team of voice actors to fill the roles.

Ever since I was little I loved stories and soon i started started creating my own stories in my head, I would design characters and build worlds around them but I knew I wasn’t the best at putting nice and neat sentences together so instead I decided to make them animated. Now this is funny bc I have zero animation experience but that’s okay bc I have plenty of time to learn. Amazing video, this really inspired me! The thing is that for me the animating is the "easy" bit, the hard bit for me is creating a storyline. I tend to just rewrite it a thousand times until I get sick of the story and start to doubt the whole thing and want to start again and just throw the whole original concept away! Unfortunately I'm just incredibly bad at making storylines but I'm trying my best to keep working at it and maybe oneday I'll have one that I'm happy with.....

The thing is, KZbinrs make it look easy, but art takes alot of time so when your trying to make an animation, just remember how long it would take for somebody to make an animation that you might of watched for inspiration that you thought was good. That’s the mindset you need. I’m not necessarily good at animation, but I know alot of things that keep me going. Keep going, I believe in you.

I'm currently working on cleaning up the script for a show I've been working on since 2017 (on and off, since I was in highschool at the time) about a duo of highschool theatre performers dealing with the mystery of the ghosts that haunt the theatre. These videos are really helpful as I'm getting into the later stages of planning. I think I've decided to go with something I can feasibly do on my own -- which is making it semi-animated, so like a webcomic, that's animated in places so it feels completely animated, but something I can realistically do.

And try getting back actually designing them, once I improve more of my art skills. And now college, am still writing it in a large notebook, thinking I’m doing it right but not. It’s basically a rough draft and then at the same time typing it like it’s another rough draft and I should have it shown. But in the other hand it has to improve whether I did it officially right. Im at the young age of 11 years old, i have been thinking of creating an animation named "My 7 Qualities Of Life" its kinda similar to the Inside Out movie though most of the characters are more of the main characters personality and not the emotions. My series started as a way for me to make my own stories but as both of us have gotten older and as I went through a really rocky time in my life recently it has become more of a vent for myself and my frustrations for the world. I recently looked back at the original notes and compared them to my recents and I was like “ damn that’s gotten dark over time..”. So yeah what I’m partially trying to say is allow space for change and twists in the story. You never know what can happen next. And your story will definitely develop or change as you progress. This year marks 4 years since I wrote the original notes and character/world concepts. Still haven’t gotten more than a minute or twos script done for the first ep and I haven’t even got any solid concepts other that writing.

I have been a story writer for a long time. I decided about a year and a half ago to move that to a 3D animated series. I can do 3D design , 3D printing, ect. Well rounded when it comes to audio effects, visual and other forms of media but I have never made an animated series. Let alone a 3D one. What a learning curve. Also, my fan fiction writings that I pined everything on was based around a video game from the 80's and was an amazing achievement at the time as it was the FIRST 3D animation game ever. Today it is a free flowing world with 5 Billion places to visit and discover. And I chose to make an animation based on that. Wow, what was I thinking. So , I crammed as much knowledge from what I already knew with a healthy dose of new softwares, (Various types) free 3D tools, ect, to get where I am now. I have a release date of 2021 and only started this 8 months ago. Wish me luck. AND thanks for a great video!

Thank you so much for this!!!! As a novice animator who’s been animating for about a decade, I definitely have dreams of making my own animated series one day! However, I don’t feel I’m really at a point where I can safely (or at least, confidently) start a multi-episodic story driven cartoon. That being said, I’m not giving up on that dream! Instead, I’m working on smaller one off projects as animation tests and practice, and I have four main projects I’m planning on working on! Each one being a bit more challenging than the last! Currently, I’m just working on a compilation of stop-motion/2.5D/multimedia animation clips featuring me (or, my avatar) and one of my Autobot Bumblebee toys! It’s nothing too fancy in the grand scheme of things, but I am using this project to experiment with a new hybrid animation style, which obviously will make the project more difficult, but I got the first clip all done, so I’m working to get the rest all done hopefully by April! (I originally was pushing for March, but I’m not quite done yet!) But anyway, thanks again so much for this video!!!💖💖💖💖💖 I’m definitely coming back to it when I’m ready to make my original series!

The crazy thing about my first series I have the characters I have the conflict but I don’t have the plot. I’m not sure how my main character should combat the antagonist... This makes sense I kinda skipped the whole point of my animated series and just went straight ahead in making my characters on a piece of paper because I didn't want to forget what they looked like when I was done drawing my characters I got so frustrated and wished I had brain stormed on what the show should be called and what it was going to be about so I was thinking of starting over and just focus on my series name instead of jumping to the fun stuff. Also I have no idea how people just come up with a cartoon series on the spot coming up with a series name is much more harder than it looks and what's even harder than that is coming up with episode names and what the episode names should be about

I literally made a whole nother' channel called Elkia Studios where I'll post the episodes of ny series. Anyways here's a bit about it. The Enchanted Skylands™ is a Magical realm that is seprate from the human world that can only be accessed by a Magical Crystal necklace that is given to those who live there at birth . The Enchanted Skylands™ has Trees with Hot pink leaves, white bark and wood, Red grass, a beautiful violet night sky, crystal mountains, and most importantly, human-elf hybrid people Lyvians ( pronounciation: LEE-vee-ins ) that live there. These residents are very welcoming to outsiders and not at all aggressive to those unknown. Although these people speak a different language, they always try their best to understand outsiders. These people will most likely look like normal humans to the naked eye, but upon closer inspection, you'll see that these people have lozange shaped pupils (lozange = skinny rhombus), are slightly taller than the average human ( average female height in The Enchanted Skylands™: 5'6, average male height in the The Enchanted Skylands™ : 6'1) . The Lyvians mainly use magic to get around and do stuff ( a magic staff is used for flight and other magic, and hand magic is used for, well, almost everything else a staff can't do ). Humans pose a threat to the Lyvians, because they want to wipe out the Lyvian species to use the huge space that is the Skylands to solve overpopulation. The series mainly revolves around Carol and her bff Kalindi, and their adventures around the Skylands (I'll add a bigger plot later, just Bear with me okay?! 😭 ). I'll add more lore later, but this is mainly what I'll use for season 1.

This is where I struggle most in my projects. I have some form of ADHD so I put 40 hours into my current project in the last 5 days. Me watching this was me procrastinating to mitigate total burnout.

I am a game designer but I was in the mood for this because I spent the last 4 days getting a pipeline for a character model to animate into pixel art as I am not good enough at either to do it straight.
