Completely agree about the correct vehicle, i wish i could go back in time, the problem is their are very few vehicles available that the average person can afford which can actually tow these vans without expensive upgrades.

Thank you, Jasper, Katie and Paul for another fantastic episode. I loved all the good pratical advice through the three part series. My wonderful wife Helen loved the one about anticlockwise travel around Australia, Helen is at this caper every time we travel, "come on Robbie take the shorter inside lane". I also learned the other day on a Simpson Desert video about using metho to burn your toilet paper before covering in the hole.

Paul - you have on several occasions indicated you would probably opt for an alternative tow vehicle, without elaborating on pros and cons for choosing otherwise which may assist decision making for viewers.

Hi David! The model Hilux we have is awesome but only has a 3.2t towing capacity - we’d look at a different capacity next time round - having a smaller van will help this as well. Hope this helps 😊 cheers!

@@TheFeelGoodFamily Thanks-so it is more about marrying the tow vehicle and van in respect to weight and power ratio and not so much the style (dual cab versus wagon )or comfort specs of vehicle.

Hi Kate, Paul & Jasper, we love watching your vids every Sunday night. You're always so positive & inspiring. Paul, can you please explain what you believe are the shortcomings of your current tow vehicle and what you believe would be more suitable (together with a smaller van)? Hello, Thanks for all the great vids. To follow on from this question, would you stick with the Ute or go an SUV equivalent (e.g. an Everest or Ranger?) We are struggling with this choice. Ute’s seem to be more practical with GVM and payload - but maybe a trade off when on the freeway for comfort? Thanks Matt

Hi Paul, another great episode, thanks guys. However i have a question, you mentioned the option of GCM upgrade pre-registration in QLD. In all the research i have done i am not aware of an option to increase the GCM of any vehicle in Queensland whether it be pre or post registration. Are you able to share the info you have about this? The only upgrade option i am aware of is a GVM upgrade however this does not change the overall GCM.
@TheFeelGoodFamily2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, I may be unaware of a change to the rules here but this is the information I believe to be correct. Here is an article that supports this. I will speak with my contacts at caravanning qld to get up to date advice as well and let you know once I hear back. G'day guys, been enjoying your lap vids and i also have a couple of questions. Firstly your fridge, is it a 3 way or compressor fridge and next thing is your opinion on the need for an oven .I am in the process of having a 18ft6 van built and would be interested in your opinion. Thanks Tony
@TheFeelGoodFamily2 жыл бұрын
@@Tony-dc2xg we have a 3-way fridge in the van and it works very well. We do not have an oven, and do not have a microwave either and mostly cook on the weber baby q outside or the stove top/grill set-up. I guess we can only comment on not having an oven and we do not miss at all! The weber can act as an oven and does the job perfectly! Hope this helps and so excited for you in this build up!
