Some good tips in this one. We travel with a Sat phone in addition to our mobile phones as well as a UHF radio. There are many Sat phone plans available go choose from. It gives you peace of mind and it does not matter what location you are in you have the confidence and peace of mind you can call anyone at at anytime. Our Cel-fi extender has proved invaluable as well.

Thanks Janice! I’ll check the sat phone plans out - I’ve just installed a cel fi booster and testing that this week 😊👍

@6:06 From my experience road cars even smaller ones are actually more comfortable on rougher corrugated roads.

The sunsets are amazing. I worked in Mt Isa in 92 just after the Mt Pinatubo volcano erupted in 91 and the atmospheric ash made the sunsets even more amazing. Also might I suggest a vehicle mounted UHF with a 5 to 8 dBi antenna instead of the small handheld ones as they have more power and better range. We are looking forward to travelling again around this Great BIG State of ours.

Thanks for the UHF tip! I’m looking into it and will do a segment in an upcoming ep. good luck with getting back on the road and hope to see you along the way! Cheers Paul

Love your videos guys, its nice to see a quality caravanning program that is not product/advertising heavy. Another communications "add on" you may wish to consider is HF radio, its is not only for the communications, but the community is fantastic as well, and you can send location updates for friends family at the touch of a button

Great tips, first aid course is a must especially when you travel. We have three Aid kits, one in car, another in the caravan and lastly in our backpack for activities, such as bike riding or hiking. Another tip we are doing after the experience in the Outback is everybody has to have a jumper in the car all the time, because depending on where you are in the afternoon can get quite chilly. Cheers

Another great episode, very positive. In the communication area, there are Sat Sleeves available that convert your iPhone into a sat phone, great idea if you're going to be remote, and worried about it, worthy of consideration. Thanks again for your efforts and sharing, Cheers, and take care.

Whilst everything you said was important, I don't think too many people are aware of the 'leave a gap to the car in front of you if you aren't going to overtake' rule. So many times, even on my big motorcycle I wonder why people are almost tailgating the car in front and not taking the overly abundant space presented to overtake. They effectively halt the progression of traffic in regions. More of a problem in popular places like SEQ for instance. Great vid Fam. Thanks. DD

Sat phone. and locator beacon. learn and teach all that need to know how to use it, just how to use it. Ive done 2 major trips and always had sat phone reception, in the middle of bumfuck no where as well. As for a long range tank, id not leave home without my 270 litres of diesel in my 200 series with my van on. good luck on the learning curve as you travel along, youll work out what suits you.

Hello family love your videos I see your tow vehicle is a hilux I don’t know how big the van is can you please tell me how the hilux goes with the van power wise thank you,say hi to your little legend jasper 👌🏼you can see him in the back round in the van 😂

Hi Greg, it made us laugh when I was editing and Jasper kept appearing in the doorway 🤣 the Hilux hasn’t missed a beat and we love it! The new models have an engine upgrade which delivers more power - we have felt it copes well however we would like a bigger vehicle as our van is just under 3t fully loaded 😊👍
