You can plant cilantro from a store bought cilantro bunch if it comes with little roots. It is easy and you can grow them in the water, pot or in the garden.

I put mine in warm water to start the rooting process. I also put in a little bit of white sugar to help it root send out new leaves. Once it is fully rooted you can plant it in soil. I make a sandy soil mix with a small amount of cow manure in it. I have kept it alive in a container of water again adding a little bit of sugar every couple of water changes. So glad to see this as I lost a clump of cilantro from grocery by setting the whole clump in water. Didn't last but 2 days that way. Just putting in fridge without water and cilantro bunch doesn't last but 2 days. I can't chop it all up first day to use because that would be too much for my recipes.
