Enjoyed your video. I’m in northwest Florida. For the past ten years or so, I’ve tried to plant my potatoes as close to Martin Luther King day as possible. Prior to that February 14th was always the day my parents planted potatoes. But I’ve found that earlier is better. Even in the years we’ve had late freezes, it only bites the plants off at the ground, and they come right back. I’m a firm believer in the mid January planting in my area.

I am growing a variety of potatoes in San Antonio. They had a bit of a rough start but are doing fine now. I just hilled them up and added a bit of cow manure. I'm growing them in grow bags. Thanks for the enjoyable video.

Using your tractor to did the trench would be a bit faster and easier. I use my John Deere garden tractor to dig the trench, cover the seed potato, and do the hilling. When the crop is ready for harvest, use the garden tractor again to dig the spuds. Enjoy getting seat time on the tractor, plus am well over 80 years old. Have planted spuds this way for over 40 years. Enjoyed your video.

Hello from Northwestern Saskatchewan Canada. Here are the best potatoes considered are the red Viking the purple Viking which are just really a red Viking with a different colour the Kennebec and of course the netted gym. Personally I find the Kennebec are very good for French frying they're not as starchy as the netted and the red Viking are very very good cooking potatoes

Two questions: where do you buy such a big bag of seed potatoes, and some of those potatoes had gray spots in them; are they ok to plant like that?
@ParkerFaith4 ай бұрын
I hoped to ask you a question and if you have a chance let me know? I planted a few red potatoes in growing stage, pretty green stem right off the side, took the stem off, kept the potatoes for dinner lol, I didn't hill, the stems are looking good, I'd covered a shorter on with dirt as a test for the next day after watering all and it peaked through the dirt, looking lovely....do I hill, or just water and let the red potatoes happen??

I would probably put a little dirt to them as the plant grows

Hello from Denmark. I have red potatoes in my garden. The variety is called Alouette. They are mold resistant. The Danes don't want red potatoes. We have several mold-resistant potatoes in Denmark. I have one that looks like the King Edward potato but it is called Carolus and is also mold resistant. Spraying is not necessary
