I used to have Bermuda grass in my front yard, but the shade from the trees was killing it so we replaced the front yard with zoysia and the landscaper told us that eventually the zoysia will take over the Bermuda into the side yard but it never did move an inch against the Bermuda is that right? Does it not Grow over Bermuda?

Sir, what is your HOC ? Do you use a rotory or Reel mower ? Thanks.

Last year I was at 1” with a reel mower

@@NCGrassPlugs does Zysia appear nice with a shorter HOC. .5-.75 or taller ?
@NCGrassPlugs Жыл бұрын
@@ogsan1296 the lower you go the more maintenance upkeep it becomes. Zoysia can look fantastic at any HOC.

How does the el toro blend with zenith? I have a few spots in my zenith that need to be plugged.
@NCGrassPlugs2 жыл бұрын
I have Compadre which looks identical to Zenith . Those two were developed at the same time by the same company. I have 2 orders of Compadre available on the website right now with more coming soon. El Toro will look fine with Zenith but there is a difference. Go with the Compadre instead.

Probably a fine bladed cultivar like Zeon.

Why don’t you explain how it grows , when to plant ,
@NCGrassPlugs Жыл бұрын
I have addressed those items but can’t cite the specific video. When to plant- anytime from Spring until about 30 days prior to your first anticipated frost. Dormant plugging is also acceptable if your ground is not frozen. How it grows - Zoysia grows from stolons and rhizomes. Stolons are the runners that you see on the surface of the ground. At every internode the plant will drop roots, establishing a new plant connected to the mother plant. And repeating the same process. Rhizomes are sub-surface runners that pop up close to the mother plant and is essentially a new plant. This process also repeats itself. This is why plugs work for warm season grasses and not really for most cool season grasses. It takes 90% of the work out compared to a sod job. Simply make a plug hole and place the plug vs working ground, removing vegetation and the labor of placing heavy sod.
