So will this carry over to game mode? Will I have to do this every time I want to play a multiplayer game?

One time only and yes it will carry over to game mode. Only way it resets is if you delete the app and DL again, or you change in settings in game mode. As a trick, I often play in game mode but select Emudeck and play in Emudeck in gamemode

Unfortunately this didn't transfer over to game mode for me do you have any ideas? I can't figure this out for the life of me. In game mode it won't even detect my controllers the same way it does in desktop mode. Any help would be appreciated 🙏

@lukefleming3678 I wish it did, and I mention at the start that I don't know but since this vid some people online mention if you update your emudeck it might work but nobody confirmed and I'm not updating my emudeck as I have everything setup the way I want. I tried again last night and still doesn't work in game mode for me.

Quick question, how did u get the ps3 controller to connect? Does ps3 controller have Bluetooth or u connected it with a cable first?

Ps3 has Bluetooth, so you can connect from settings in either mode desktop or gaming mode

Can you use the GC controller profile if you just want one player (single player) in a Wii game?

Good question and yes you should be able to because the GC and Wii share thr same emulator, so it shouldn't be a problem

@@personausermike1 Thanks. A shame more Wii games don’t support the GC Controller option or Classic Controller. Not a fan of the Dolphin motion emulation on the Deck.

@@MrsBlaileen1 No worries. I agree. I try to have a ps2 or ps3 version of a game if possible, but those Wii exclusives are the issue

@@personausermike1 Exactly. I tried playing “Silent Hill: Shattered Memories” on Wii/Dolphin and just gave up. Will eventually have to get the PS2 version, though the graphics won’t look as good.

I don't understand, it works for mortal kombat armageddon, but all my other games no longer work, neither the steamdeck game pack nor the ps4 or ps5 controller are detected by my other games, resident evil 2.3 mario kart wii, football, tennis, my controllers no longer work on my other games

Should I just configure multiple controllers when I set up my emulators so that I won’t have to worry about doing this later when I want to play multiplayer? Or does that mess something up

For the Dolphin emulator, I only set up 2 players and specifically 8bitDo as 1st and PS3/4 as 2nd player. It wi remember this but if you want anything different than that, you have to set it up first. Also as a rule of thumb with all emulators, pair your controllers with the deck befofe opening.

Once you get to desktop, don't open any emulator or emudeck. Go to the Bluetooth icon in the corner and connect your controller to the Deck directly first. Sometimes it doesn't read it and you have to delete the connection then reconnect it to the Deck. Everytime you go to desktop, you have to ensure the controller connects to the Deck before you even open emudeck or any emulator

I usually don't even turn it on until I get to desktop, so just turn it back on when you switch over. The Steamdeck pretty much restarts when it switches between the two
