I love mixed games, i wish that there was more of them on TV. I'd personally love to see you play for example stud 8 live or even online and i'm sure that i'm not the only one. Great vids!!

Best video yet in this series. Your enthusiasm is fantastic, but your observations are invaluable. Great job with the production as well. I'm super impressed with how well you keep track of four potential hands for each street and tell us how to proceed depending on what may happen on future streets. It looks like it's all off the top of your head, but there's no way you can keep track of all that just in the moment, right? Well... maybe you are that amazing. :)

Great video. This is one of the best games to play. They're so many styles you can play in this game and it rewards you for playing both sides. It's also awesome when you’re in multi ways pots with scoop hands, you win huge pots.

Really appreciate this. I recently got into a neighborhood game featuring a lot of 7-card hi-low. I didn't know what I was doing and I got killed. This is the best explanation of strategy I've found. Also don't seem to be any good books out there that explain the game on this level.

that you these series Daniel they have helped my game already. I find I generally do better at the O8 or mixed games (ive managwd to win some small buy in tournaments on pokerstars). My issue is that I can get a little bored with the holdem games. Can you do a presentation on how you keep focus in a tournament. Many thanks. Chris NZ.

For almost all poker games it is Monte Carlo simulation. Somewhat simplified this means that you simulate a bunch of games at random and see the relative proportions of wins/losses/draws.

Good info, thanks. One thought from my end that I wondered if you agreed with. On the bring in, if I'm the only low (everyone else showing 9+) and have a bad 3 card low, or even 2 to a low. Does this count as a good situation to bring it in for the completion bet and try and steal the ante's, or hit good on 4th with an easy steal opportunity?

Didn't know which video to ask this on, so this might sound like a ridiculous question, but what are your thoughts on sunglasses as the table? You never wear them. I've never worn them. But some of the best do. I find tells are easier by how a guy plays a hand vs his eyes. And more often how he actually handles those aforementioned sunglasses.

Daniel. Love these videos. I have a couple questions... You mentioned 910J is a hand you shouldn't play on 3. You explained the other ones. Why not play this? If I have a low draw on 5th w a lot of live cards, do I drive this raising or betting? Four flush? If I feel someone has one pr on 5th, do I call to hit 2 pr heads up? What are my odds. How do I learn odds in this game? Any books or online training youd recommend on stud and stud8? I'm not finding any books on stud8. Any suggestions on how to get better in this besides playing? It's hard to find local stud games where I am. There is one once a week where I live. Thanks. Dan

Daniel, if you bring in with a 2 an it is suited with an A 4 in the hole, is that a situation to bring in for the full amount?
@adamkipnis7 жыл бұрын
In case he doesn't respond, the answer here is no. If you're opening for the full amount in situations like this, but not doing it with something like (36)2, then you become too predictable. Your opponents will be able to narrow your hand range significantly off the very first action in the hand. In general, I feel the only times you should ever consider opening for the full amount is either 1) you're super short, or 2) you're short-handed/heads up and you're the only one with a baby door card (and this is frequently going to be a steal)

Good video but I think where you say to fold KJ4 all suited there are other options, what if the full table 9 players window cards do not show a single heart and also it is a multiway pot, these situatiosn you should not be folding 3 suited cards.

The problem is, even if you have a 3% advantage, but the house is going to take 5% of your bet and your opponent's call in rake, then you still loose money, so you really can't push small edges too much.
@SGProductions876 ай бұрын
Only applies in games where the rake cap is not easily met. Ie it's way more a factor at 10c/20c than $10/$20
@idonthavemonkey Жыл бұрын
Also, bet/call in the dark generates more rake. i hate it when players bet knowing it's a chop. It's just giving free money to the house.

Love this game, but play it in home games and we don't play 5 card straight as a low. Low hand is A2346. A2345 is a straight and is not the low in our games. Our preferred version of this is bet 7th street-declare hi-lo-bet again. Also, we play a version where any low takes half, not 8 or better.
