If I had listened to that music, I wouldn't have known how simple it actually is. You break it down so easily, I'm looking forward to trying it asap!

I'm a super beginner on the piano, I only know like some kids' songs but in terms of doing whatever, I've been badly practicing singing and guitar especially for about 20 years already and at one point, we had this metal band that had a singer who could also play the piano. And we (the guys who didn't know a thing about the piano) asked her to "throw in some of those ambient mats". She never really figured out what we wanted and we couln't be more precise, because we had no idea how to make them. Here you are making them and my mind is blowing apart over how damn easy this was..!?!??! Great video thanks!

Modal approach is also good for ambient in general, and something like in this video specifically. 1: find mode that used all white keys, say D Dorian 2: Play alot of root notes to establish the key, and then just hover over chords that contains characteristic key of this mode, while your right hand do same 3-6 intervals. It will be even more ambient due to absence of tension/release and cadences - only vibing to specific mode sound.

@@BitesizePiano Agreed, but honestly, when playing similar things just for myself, I often don't do it and let a few chords sustain. My digital piano has very nice resonance modeling and the sound is also like music itself that way. Of course one must stay in key for that.

Theory: iv, V & IV chords, implying the I (key signature/root) related to them. Then the base I plus ii chords. Then look up “inversion”
