One more tip I would like to add is, " Get to know your store clerk". Don't be hesitant to ask if someone recently bought a big winner from a ticket you want to purchase. Or take a peek in the trash for multiple losing tickets. A clerk told me, someone lost on 6 straight Winner's Circle tickets and left the last one behind. Clerk suggested I buy it. It was a $1000 winner!!

My mom totally gets this, except, we were buying $20 tickets, my mom hit a 10X for $200, I bought a couple more of them against her advice but I got SUPER LUCKY and hit for $1000. Highly unlikely but it does happen!

I used to win a lot in PA on scratch-offs. No grand prizes, but between 25 and 100 at least 3-4 times a week. Play the ten and twenty dollar tickets they seem to hit the most.

TX gives a lot more information than some other states, which I'm jealous of. I think it's also important to know what the overall payout of a ticket is. There are also tickets where the prize structure suits different types of players: high risk (where more money is allocated to the top prizes) and lower risk (where more money is allocated to the lower and mid tier prizes). I think states hide those figures from players so that we will play in ignorance (which allows the state to offer tickets with lower and lower payouts). I'm a GA player, and I take the limited information they give us, break down the numbers, and post videos so that folks can play smart and pick tickets that are right for their style of play.

Matt, I'm going to add a couple of items to your info (very accurate and well-presented, by the way)... 1. In most states, you can mail, or take, winners of ANY amount to a lottery claim center for payment. If you mail the tickets for payment, allow approximately 2 weeks for processing and shipment of your check. (You can also use this method if you buy tickets while traveling through another state -- allow 3 weeks for processing and shipment.) 2. Some states (like my Colorado) will allow you to redeem smaller winning tickets (e.g. $50 or under) through lottery vending machines -- however, you can only use that money to purchase additional lottery tickets; no cash back is given. 3. You did not discuss the subject of second-chance drawings. A game's second-chance drawing(s) could provide enough value to make it a better play than another game with similar or marginally better analytics. Of course, this requires even more mathematical analysis of the value of the prize(s) being offered in the drawing(s); i.e. computing the "expected value" of the second-chance prize(s) and adding it to the "guaranteed/expected value" of a ticket in the game, then comparing as normal. The bottom line is a second-chance drawing can add a reason to play one game over another. Still, this video should be required viewing for any scratch ticket player anywhere. Well done.

Michigan does not break the tickets down like this. We only see beginning amounts and balance of what that ticket starts at and it is updated every day as the winning tickets are cashed in. It would be great if it was like Texas.

Thanks for the great tips. I now ask the clerk what number ticket is on the roll. I have won so much more money now playing tickets that are on a new pack. Example : I asked the clerk on a $10 ticket which number it was on and she said 1. I asked her for the next ticket, it was 2. So obviously it was starting from the beginning of the pack. Bought 10 cards, 3rd card in I hit it for $100 followed by 60 and 20. Easy $80 profit just by odds being in my favor. Thanks a lot

This is the strategy I use. Kentucky has a $50 Ticket with the guaranteed top prize being either $100, $300, or $500. I got the $100 in the first third of one roll and stopped playing. A few days later I went in and the 2 cashiers looked at each other and one said, "are you going to tell him?" Right away I had an idea a Big Winner had been hit since $10000 was being hit all over the state. I said, "Did someone get the $10000?" They said, "No, $50000" and proceeded to show me the picture of it. 😂

I buy the low tickets first I use the money on the low tickets I win on to buy the high-dollar tickets 51 little over $500 just from the 1 2 3 dollar tickets this year I started to buy $5 tickets I won around sixty bucks on the five dollar tickets I was mostly winning 10 to $20 dollars , I would go to different stores pile up the money , on a $2 weekly grand I won $40 , I would win 10 to $20 on a $1 tickets switch strategy is keep piling up your money and keep buying I play everyday I win one there three times every day

Some of this i disagree on. I was playing a row of $2 jumbo bucks in tn. 150 tics on the row. I bought 20 tics. Spent 40 bucks. Hit $100 on tic 24. I left came back 2 hrs later. Row was ion tic 59. I bought tic 59 thru 64. Hit $500 on tic 64. There was still 85 tics left. But i spent total $50 n won $600 on tics 20 tics apart

Oddly enough the $5000 winner was at an inner city liquor store. For some reason I don't think a jackpot would be much higher there.

You have to remember also, while its true $10 and up tickets get better payouts, generally anything above $100 on $5 and $10 tickets are going to probably be your best wins on those denominations. In my experience $5 will generally have a max $50 win in a pack and $10 generally will have $100. Usually $20, $100 to $200 will be the max payout and $30 to $50 tickets will have max payout usually from $100 to $300 max payouts. Generally to me max out pays seem to be almost always be 10 times the ticket denomination, with 30 and 50 dollar tickets the exception usually, anything beyond that most usually will call those outliers or rare wins. In essence it doesn't matter what denomination you play, you just have to play smart within the game itself and try not to chase too much unless you know that max payout is in that pack.

For safety reasons many stores do not allow employees to keep 100 50 or even 20 dollar bills in their registers they drop those into the safe... if a person looking to rob a place sees you can easily cash a $100 winner they know you are an easy target

I've done books with multiple $100 wins, and have done books with zero $100 wins. Good video but what if someone behind you is playing off of me? I like to sit outside and scratch and I notice people in line play off of me lol btw i won money 💰 if they play a few off of the ticket I just won on shouldn’t my probability of getting anything else good be a little better since I have someone else playing off of me??? Yes. As long as you can track the number of wins and losses. I like to go to places that are not busy.

Are all the prizes in each pack? Or do they print more than 1 pack per round? I've always been confused on that. I have 3 stores by my apartment that sell. How many packs can be in a run of the game? Are there any tricks to using a machine dispenser or the few sold at counter?

Top prizes are randomly dispersed throughout multiple packs. In TX, there is a minimum payback per pack with certain guaranteed prizes. There is really no difference between vending or over the counter. I prefer to play at less busy stores.
