I am confused with the config files with similar names. Do I keep all config files for every mod regardless if they have the same name, or do I ensure only one file with that name in the riivolution folder exists? After I drag mkwd config files, should I keep all those files plus the ones I have for Mindnight or only drag the ones with different file names?

I got homebrew and riivolution to load but after trying lots of times we can not get the midnight tracks to open on riivolution on the computer it says download and unzipped but once we put the disc in the Wii it would not install. How did you get it to work???.

There's more stuff in my root riivolution folder than just midnight and config files. I had a riivolution folder on the sd card root before I started the modding

I just followed these directions to the letter trying to install Midnight and Retro Rewind mods and something weird happened. The channel arrangement in my Wii U User profile was completely rearranged including missing the folder with all of my homebrew apps (Using Aroma) and everyting associated with homebrewing in my system. I only Installed the Riivoltion .wuhb, and two mods folders for Midnight and Retro Rewind, even checked to see if there were redundant .xml files and all looked good, but the result was like I said. Put SD back in computer and removed those 3 items (.wuhb and 2 folders) and channel layout went back to the way it was before w/ all the apps. No idea what the problem was but glad its back to previous. Any tips?

If I have CTGp already installed on my Wii U SD card, should I keep my CTGP riivolution folder seperate from my other mods riivolution folder, or let them merge?

Whenever i add a custom character on 1 of them have sounds and icons and they dont appear in the character selection menu and they have no custom names. I dont know if it has to do with me being on wii and not using a emulator. Also i dont use any if he apps i just extract the zip files and put em on the “My Stuff” folder. To explain it better when i add characters only one has custom sounds, one has icons and one apperss in the character selection without needing to start the game to see. Is there a way to fix it so all tue characters have the custom names and appear in the menu + having icons and all that?

So uhh Riivolution doesn't want to read my disc. It keeps saying Disc Read Error even though it works fine in CTGP and vanilla. Tried to play Retro Rewind but I still got the same error

Excuse me, but I got it all installed and stuff, no issues. I got to play Midnight a bit last niggt and everything seemed to go great. Then, when I try to boot Riivolution to day, it gave me an "Exception (DSI) Occured" error. Can someone help me out please? Im on Wii U

you would need to find the wbfs version, but most wbfs versions won't have online compatibility but mkwii dx does as mentioned in the intro

Anyone else having issues playing with multiple controllers on nintendont. Been trying to figure it out for days, have maxpads to 4, native controller off and I am using original GameCube controllers. The only thing I can think of is it only reads the first controller port cause none of the others work but all my controllers work on the first port. You could try re downloading, or double check you have all other mkwii riivolution mods disabled except rewind

Sometimes that happens with mods! Did it say dsi reception occurred? You can safely restart and try the mod again

I have a copy of MKWII, but the disc is scratched up that only 8 tracks work and battle modes dont work. So I use USB Loader GX to play normal mkwii. But i now want to play Retro Rewind. So the thing is whenever i load retro rewind through homebrew channel, it just says to insert a sd/usb, though i used a usb drive and it was plugged into the wii, it still didnt work cuz i dont have the disc inserted, now ofc i wont use the disc cuz of how crappy it is, I'm tryna find a way so that I can use it via usb loader. Do you know how to play retro rewind via usb loader? If you know, that would mean a lot to me. Thanks!

Same thing for me I have the wbfs on my usb because I have to use Wii backup manager for the vwii and I put the mods on sd and it shows up on riivolution that I need to insert the disk. I can confirm that I do have mkwii dx green on usb loader does the mods have to be on usb and if so how without formatting it

if all your files are set up properly, just try a few more times. sometimes it can be janky depending on the mod (i had to try 3 times for insane kart wii

I've got the same problem with Mario Kart Wii Deluxe, the only workaround I found was to turn off the console with the Wii Remote.

My suggestion would be to double check your file structure and re download riivolution and try again. Ctgp also works much better with the actual ctgp app instead of riivolution

Maybe I can take those files off since they weren’t in the video since maybe that is interfering. Edit: I just checked and the previous files were from the CTGP tutorial and the riivolution folder merged with that new one so do I need to take the CTGP files out of that folder?
