Not that you got wrong but something we overlooked was the surpassing play. The card you play in any position needs to only surpass the LEAD card not all previous cards. This specification during the teach is important to avoid players constantly taking single pip actions where they don't need to.

25:22 If Tyrant/Warlord ambition was scored that round Trophies/Captives are returned to their owners in the Clean up step after ALL the scoring ambitions step is done. Doing this during the scoring might cause players loosing resources (by the fact the city might have returned to their player board) that would have been scored after Tyrant/Warlord ambitions are scored.

Love this collaboration with Sam!!! As a loving patron, here's a few extra rules details that's not mentioned (or I might have just missed from the video): 1. You can re-arrange resources whenever you gain a resource or a city gets returned to the boards REGARDLESS if it causes overflow or resource being covered 2. You can tax a rival city even though there's no more resources in the same pool just to capture agents 3. You can discard as many resources as you want without using it's effect in prelude (useful for resources that's outraged or just to benefit from the full effect for certain guild cards). As for guild cards, the current consensus is that you need to at least be able to fulfill part of its effect to use its prelude discard effect (some people like to throw the cards away just to prevent other people from stealing it) 4. You can use the prelude effect of a card that you gained during the prelude phase IF you obtained it by using a psionic to battle in which you stole that card as this does not count as a "secure" 5. Tournament rule states that during each round, you discard the face-up cards face-up and facedown cards facedown as players like to count cards instead of needing to remember them. If the draw pile ever runs out from guild cards effect, shuffle the 2 piles together and put on top (as draw effects draw from bottom). I find this quite fun to play in a casual game as well. 6. I'm not sure which version of the rulebook I have, I suppose there's a line stating that during a catapult action, you have to stop at a system controlled by a rival prior to the catapult action or a planet (I suppose the planet part means you can't catapult through planets since you'd just stop there)

The weapon resource is a bit confusing. Do you only need one weapon resource to change as many pips into battles or do you need one resource per pip you want to change?
@drvortex5 ай бұрын
Think of weapons as a card modifier. Instead of adding actions or pips like the others resources, weapon changes the description of any card by adding "or battle" at the end of the description. So for example a mobilization card says "move or influence" if you played a weapon it says "move or influence or battle". I have been teaching it like that and I think it helps.

Major rules goof here, Shayman. Players will actually all play their cards simultaneously and then take actions. Just clarifying for anyone who is confused!
@RTFM5 ай бұрын
I'm afraid that's incorrect. As it says in the rules, the player with initiative takes their turn, which includes playing a card, potentially declaring ambition and taking prelude actions, then taking card actions, after which the next player in clockwise order takes their turn. I'm not sure where you got that from as I don't find any reference to cards being played simultaneously.
@matthelion5 ай бұрын
@@RTFM my ex-wife and I ran the demo for this at pax, back before the divorce… and while she did get full custody of our daughter, I think I know how to play Arcs. I don’t have access to the rulebook right now, as I’m currently incarcerated, but I’ll check it when I get out.
@somerandomperson82825 ай бұрын
Wow this is awkward... how can you think people play cards 'simultaneously' unless you completely misunderstood the rules or have never placed? It starts wit the player with initiative and then goes clockwise around the table! LOL! :D
