Funny enough I was just editing the "I hope this works" mission where you play as Troy but the twist is you are defending against 4 Chinese players

@@_saw_aom obviously I'm gonna add some extra tools like adding in an additional troy player that will be all focused on attacking the Chinese and I'm thinking of adding a mechanic to call in assistance that are basically there to raid the Chinese docs and land troops to harass them also changing the layout a bit

As a pretty experienced map creator I wanted to use this opportunity to ask two questions: Is there a specific AI or map setting that will make computer players build docks and transport units from one island to another? And when will AI build Town Centers over settlements? I remember someone mentioned somewhere on a forum (maybe AOM Heaven) that if you create a settlement via triggers (after the map is launched), then the AI will recognise it and indeed attempt to build TC over it. These questions may soon be resolved with Retold release, but just in case they won't, I wanted to ask them.

I don't have a pc but still play aom on my phone usually when we apply ai to a team then the ai villages automatically construct the towncenter if they have enough resources

Thank you for the tutorial! I think it might be more interesting if you would set a challenge for yourself: not just wipe out Atlantis and Arkantos in this scenario, but do it without losing a single myth unit, or under a certain time limit. Then it might be more interesting and enjoyable both for you and the audience! ^^

Well it's a fairly pointless video because age of empires campaigns are based on a system of triggers so you may as well just make a new scenario from scratch

depends on the objective. if you want them to do specific things outside of simply building an army and attacking, you will need to input your own set of triggers to force them to accomplish the objective

To bad the player 1 AI wont respond accordingly. All the triggers set in place are mostly for the enemy so they act accordingly. You can give player 1 a basic AI so he will build and make units/ move army. But as far as objectives go they dont have a clue without making triggers. Essentially you can do this but youre shooting fish in a barrel unless you give the AI you put in place some resources and time to build

You’re right. This is why I make my maps available for others to play because I set triggers in place for player 1 to complete objectives. It’s very tedious at times

I think you can do the fall of the trident in the original game only and the new Atlantis in the titans expansion only. At least that’s how I remember back in the day

I once used editor to create the "War of the titans" level more terrifying, by adding all civs to fight each other with their titans, and you have to summon Gaia and kill all the other 6 titans including kronos and the Chinese one. like a royal rumble
