I'm surprised that not many people play Astra. Her Util is very diverse and her ult is really good at forcing other team to push. Plus the added bonus of her util being pre placed from long distance is very useful

As an Astra Main myself, it's hard to play with randoms with Astra.. especially after the nerf which heavily impacted the flexibility of Astra's kit. Still, she's a fave to use in coordinated teamwork.. especially coz Astra can be used as a pseudo-sentinel...

I think the biggest reason why she isn’t played as much in normal unranked lobbies is because her pulls and concussion are both very reliant on how the team plays, especially with duelists. She needs information on where to place stars and when exactly does she need to concuss or pull at the right moment. Sure there is the normal line up, but knowing just when to activate it will require either her or her teammates to get info of the other team pushing or peeking. Placing her stars at very obvious peeking points can also greatly affect the other team as they might not want to get pulled or sucked. Her stars itself can already create a sort of ripple effect on how the whole enemy team would play. Baiting stars, placing them down, how you use it. Unranked lobbies, especially one’s that aren’t 5 stacks, will find it hard to use Astra correctly since most of the time, there’s little to no comms. Even though her utilities are well rounded and pretty op when used right, it is only when the team is working together and cooperating while giving call-outs. Hence why Astra is GOD at ranked and high elo matches.

It’s easy to play astra if you’re just thinking of her as a smoking agent. But if you want to fully utilise her kit then she could be the most toughest agent to master because other than putting UP smokes every other thing you do is reactive and thats tough to think in a middle of a match.

Astra main, i started maining her when she first came out. Mostly I play with randoms or one or two friends, but I've managed to hit g1 with her. She's great as long as your team has comms or even just pings. Requires paying attention to what your team is doing though lol, but knowing what your team is doing really helps big brain plays

her ult is best used as a rush tool to plant spike on the objective while also setting traps and taking positions which the enemy team won't know. also it is better to divide the entire map covering multiple sites so the enemy doesn't know for sure which site it is till they go to the other side of the wall and relay to the rest of the team, which at the very least gives few precious seconds for the attackers to take control of the site while retaining most other utilities. while using defensively for retaking points one can cover off multiple choke points and go on site for the defuse.

I think breach is also one of the hardest agents to master like astra because, unlike all the other initiators, breach doesn't have any info gathering tools so his util usage is solely based on comms and pure game sense

In my experience Good omens are either batshit insane or psychoanalysis gods. Good brimstone mains are lineup larrys. Good viper mains are lineup larrys. Good harbor mains are, actually idk. And good astras are usually gawk gawk 3000queens.

Fr I like using Astra when playing controller but most of the times I pick omen more bc its easier to utilize most of his skill compares to astra. Its just hard to use her skill when it took a while to be able to use some of her skill, and I really can't understand how to use her ult properly

as useful this vid is, i would personally claim that the most essential element of playing astra is communication: since shes nurfed back to 4 stars, it makes the use of her utils needs to be more precise and less reckless. Playing in gold and plat, I noticed that players require much more from astra than they give, consequently, corce her into multitasking and being unable to concentrate on her own gameplay. Lastly, mastering astra is literally impossible, the matter is how well would you react using her utils to mutiple situations in sync with playing a truly shoting game❤
