How to play audio with DF player mini without Arduino | How to use DF player Mini

Hello friends, In this video, we will learn, how to play audio by using DF player mini without using Arduino. I use DF player mini, SD card and single jumper wire. I short two pins of df player mini.

Hi, if i connect the vcc input of df miniplayer to a digital output pin of arduino and set that pin high, is is enough to run the speaker? Another question is that i did the same as the video using 9V battery and it worked,however after sometime speaker gives some slow noise and not any audio output,why did this happen?

It works on 5v dc. If you want to connect DF player to arduino, connect VCC of DF player to 5V or Vin pin of arduino

Hi friend, could you answer a question for me please? If I install a momentary switch on the power side so that it turns off/on when the lid of a musical box is opened, I assume the audio track will start from the beginning each time? Is there a different way you would achieve this? Also, in your video the audio played immediately when power was applied, that is exactly what I need it to do to use it in a music box project. Is there something you had to do to make that happen or is that a function of it's factory design? Thank you.

Hi friend 😊, its good for musical box project. When we gave power, it takes 2 to 3 seconds for audio playing. It always start from beginning each time.

Can you please explain why you added the jumper between the second ground connection and the AD key. I had it working without doing that but now I can't seem to get it to stay on and wondering if I need this or new board

when jumper is connected, df player automatically play audio.

@@fairelectro I added a second button, io1 goes to positive end of button, io2 too. The grounds meet up and it adds previous, volume up hold, next, volume down function. Do you know if there is a pause? And thank you. Project for my son

there is no jumper wire for play once. we can use with Arduino and program it as play once

If you really want to only play it once at start up, you can use a transistor that turn off when a current is applied. A capacitor and a resistor would provide the "turn off" signal. You can tune the time it takes to turn off the transistor by using different capacitor/resistor values. If price is not a problem, just use an arduino or something else, you can even add more functionalities. Lastly, read the DFPlayer's datasheet. This chip packs a lot of functions usable with only resistors and button. Maybe you can do what you want easily.

May be your battery is not fully charged. Connect 5v DC power supply and copy mp3 format file in SD card.

@@fairelectro Yes, like an MP4, video and sound. It would be best if there was a switch. Turned it on, file started playing, and looped as long as the power was on. That way if you made a diorama or a book nook you could just press a button, show off your work, press the button to stop.

the battery you are linking to seems to be a 1.5volt battery and in the video its a 3.7 volt battery - am I right?
