SBL is awesome...but anthony is awesome too..good teachers and great players don't need visuals..I love these videos just the way they are. I've searched all over for good teachers and Anthony is one of the best..don't get me wrong SBL online academy is sic..but as much as I watch guys on there, I always watch anthony's new videos. He's one of the best players and teachers I've seen... emphasiis on teaching. That's a real skill in itself

For ‘bread and butter’ melodies, these are where it’s at. If you look at nearly all classic, famous melodies, they are pretty much all from these. It’s only when you get into jazz that you’ll need others.

I'm struggle to improvise on bass solo. I'm ok laying down solid foundation bassline when playing in a band. i.e if key of C and the chord progression is C, Am, F and G. I have no problem playing the notes within the chord shape make the bass sound connected within the group. If I have to play a solo on top of the same 4 chord progression, I'm struggle badly.

How are you using F#MIN for Bbmin chord? Shouldnt it be C#maj penta?
@Minecraftlikeablawk5 жыл бұрын
cool video Anthony! i have a question do you think of chord tones when playing "scales" for e.g. the pentatonic scale and does the weak beat strong beat concept tie into that?
@AnthonyMuthurajah5 жыл бұрын
Hey! In this video, I'm not thinking chord tones at all. Primary focus is just on being melodic. When melody is the prime focus, the strong/weak beat concept is minimal for me. I did work on that in the past but not anymore. After a certain point, you need to let go and just make music!
