Thanks Pete 🙏 you're a great motivator for me to keep the videos coming. Let me know how you find this one. Thinking it's perhaps easier than the past few tunes?

Cheers - this one is a good one to have a crack at if you're short on time. A couple of technical things to get under the fingers then you're sailing!

Robert gave us 29 songs. It was enough. I’m still waiting to see what Jeremy’s 30th is! I’m gonna take it on the road! Like the stones did with Johnson!

Odds on the 30th track will be from the movie crossroads mate 😆 I'm taking the movie for all it's worth!

Thank you for recommendations on what string gauge to use number 10 gauge flat wounds give me the systane I was looking for. How about breaking down "I hate everybody" by Johnny Winter thank you very much. Cheers.

10 flats eh? What company makes those? Can’t recall seeing them that light. You get a wound 3rd? Don’t you find the 1st and 2nd strings a little too light? I’ve been buying mine from thomastix- if you buy direct you can buy singles which is kind of great 👍

Honestly mate I think the muting here is less forgiving than feelin bad blues.

Can you say the string gauge and model of bottleneck??.THX. Great Sound!!!
@JeremyJames_studio Жыл бұрын
Sure, the strings are d’addario flatwound strings 11s. The slide used here is the rockslide medium (green!) - if you’re looking for slides I put another video up recently on that…basically I’ve settled on diamond bottlenecks. Cheers.

Besides the obvious “it’s in the hands” factor, which combination of your gear do you think really gets you close to Ry’s tone? You’re really close to his sound from that 80s period. Any advice on achieving this tone?
@JeremyJames_studio Жыл бұрын
I'd say it's all in the hands and....kidding! A few things you might be able to do. 1. Play with fingers. 2 change to flatwounds 2. Drive an amp enough to get some sag and light compression/OD 3. Dial in some slap delay. 4 develop a fairly fast vibrato Pickups can definitely get your closer as well. If you want to go into the weeds on this...Email me through my website. We can discuss it some more 🧐

@@JeremyJames_studio Cool I’ll definitely be sending you an email. Much appreciated! I had forgotten that he used flat wounds.
@JeremyJames_studio Жыл бұрын
@@stephenbrumlow931 yes it's a little hard to get there without them. I did a play through and lesson of feeling bad blues and struggled - realised afterwards that flats would have helped a lot. Chat soon 👌

What kind of slide is that?
@JeremyJames_studio2 жыл бұрын
One of those rock slides...medium I think. Haven't managed to find one that fits exactly though. Normally just use a Jim Dunlop slide these days - 212 model from memory
