this is actually a very accurate game with the title "brilliant or bs", it's literally people acting brilliant while sometimes saying something bs

Does it count as hinting if the answer would be a hint to another player other than the judge? Let's say Person A says "I know. I used to play this sport in middle school!". Person B is Person A's mother and knows exactly which sports Person A played. Person C is the judge and only met Person A in college and doesn't know all of Person A's childhood hobbies.
@BigStrap2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a time for a table ruling. If I was playing with a bunch of people who didn't know each other very well I would probably try and limit it, but if the judge happens to already know that someone is an expert in that field, you can't really limit that.
@brilliantorbs58272 жыл бұрын
Great question. You can talk about your background and experience even if the judge knows it to be true. You’re NOT allowed to hint to the specific multiple choice options by saying something like “I know it’s not the first one because…”
@profdouglas13922 жыл бұрын
You also submit an answer before the debate part, so if you say “I played this in high school” the only person who wouldn’t have put their answer down would be the judge who knows the correct answer

It would be great if you could try your hand at doing guides for games in the Jackbox Party packs. Some people always get confused at games like "Bidiots" and I think it would help if you could use your magic on explaining these games.
@sergewind22082 жыл бұрын
I don't understand how people can have difficulty with Jackbox games, they're literally designed for parties. But then again, my playgroup already has experience with complicated games, so maybe we have a biased point of view.

2:15 what do you mean by "extra 2 points"? The player with the Brilliant card gets 1 point for the correct answer, and then 2 points for the Brilliant Card (3 in total), or 1 point for the correct answer, and 1 for the Brilliant (2 in total)?

People are not allowed to reveal their answer anyway in the interrogating process, so it probably wouldn't matter.

If someone is assigned the BS card, but answers correctly, do they still receive a point? If so, what is the punishment for getting the BS card vs. not receiving any card at all? You both would just get a point for the right answer? What makes me want to avoid the BS card as a player?
@brilliantorbs58272 жыл бұрын
Great question. The goal of every player should be to get the Brilliant card, because you'll automatically earn 2 points -- right or wrong. You'll earn an additional point if you happen to get the question right. As a player, there's no penalty for earning a BS card. If you answered correctly you'll still earn 1 point. That card is more critical to the Judge, who'll lose points if they assign the wrong person the BS card. As a player, you want to avoid the BS card because it means you haven't earned a Brilliant card -- which is the ultimate goal.
@bobthebox29932 жыл бұрын
Assigning the BS card to the whole group seems like a horrible strategy to me. It can lose you the most points and even if no one knows the answer, their chance of randomly picking the right answer is still 1/3 per player. For a 3 player game, which I assume is the minimum, (1 judge and 2 guessers), it's already more likely that at least 1 person randomly guesses the correct answer.
