Ok, heres how to play cera, rather effectively. First, and this goes for any dino, go into settings and switch off manual alt attack. It does nothing except be detrimental to combat. Next, I would not recommend trusting anybody. Sometimes people are nice, but on officials those people are few and far between. And also, dont trust other ceras. They are cannibals, and will likely see you as a nutrient sack rather than an actually useful teammate. Ok, now for combat. Cera is designed to be a close range brawler that outmaneuvers larger opponents and straight up facetanks smaller ones. Your bleed resistance is pretty much perfect, so unless your fighting an actual god at omnitah (myself not inculded), you should just stay where you are and never stop facing them, they cant pounce on you from the front. Do not run after them, it is just a waste of stamina and drains your bleed bar. A feature that not a lot of people know about is that you actually gain heavy damage reduction when in close proximity to an unmoved corpse. This is helpful knowledge when stealing corpses. Against a carnotaurus is a bit trickier. Do not run away, that is just the number 1 way to get sent back to the character creation screen. What you should do is instead run circles around the carno until they bite, then you run in with a charged bite. It deals 400 damage, which is extremely solid for a small mid tier. Carno may deal more damage per bite but its attack speed is by comparison patheticly slow. Do not facetank the carno unless near a corpse. You simply do not have the health to do that. Unfortunately i do not know how to effectively deal against other ceras and stegos, because i am not particularly skilled. Hopefully this was helpful.
