Roman , Thank you Roman. Beautiful ,clean and understandable pattern. Now I know why my TUMBAO pattern doesn’t work for some of those smooth jazz grooves. Highly appreciated .I feel with a few hours of your demo, I can do a audition. Richie Bono

Thank you Richie! I appreciate your kind words! 🙏🏼 yea there are little differences within Tumbao variations that allow the rhythm to be used or “fit” into other genres. Happy to hear it worked for you! Keep on working at it and I’m sure you can! Thanks for the support! I appreciate it very much!

Nice one, can you write the chart for readers as well? Many gigs are lost when a conga player can not read charts. Appreciate, much love!

Thanks for this lesson . I’m learning a new song. Evil Ways Santana, for performance today. I’ve been asked to play congas Bossa nova rhythm.

Nice, but the backing tracks are too loud, so we don't hear the congas enough!...

Would hit the like button and maybe subscribe you would do a written transcription that everyone has been asking for for 8 months. It is a very cool rhythm for sure. A mistake that is made on many videos is it starts out at playing tempo, then it’s gets player slower and slower, so you got to keep watching the video. Others play it tempo, then immediately count it out, exactly what note is is played on the 1, the + of 1 , the 2, the + of 2,etc. Break the pattern down,, this is the first measure, now here is the second measure . It would give folks a chance to write it down, many people can catch it quicker that way. Then it’s played slowly so the viewer can maybe play along, and understand what is getting played when within the song. Maybe even talk about how the rhythm fits in with the Bossa Nova clave, or how it doesn’t fit with it.

There are tons of channels that give a step by step, note by note breakdown. This channel was created as a resource for those who like to learn by tempo breakdown. I understand this approach won’t be for everyone.

Hello Roman , I wondering if you can clarify the Conga pattern for malos Song : Cafe . It has a few tricky phrases. I apologize for asking you about a beat that is out of context with your lesson. Is there a better way to contact you for random questions ? Happy new year. Rich
