What do you mean by tucking your puck just shy of the post in the 10 circle?

The only thing you didn't mention was what the total score that constitutes a victory is. We've been playing by the rules as you read them with one exception -- only one team scores each round yes, but we count them the points showing on the board and the first to 100 points wins. I'd be curious to know what the official rules you pulled from) are for how many points in order to win the match.

With tournament rules your score at the end of the round doesn't matter. It only matters if you win, lose or draw. Win is 2 points, draw is 1 point. The score to win a match varies by tournament, you could play first to 9 points for example. The way you're describing it is the traditional way of scoring, they chose not to do that in tournaments because that scoring system encourages safe play, which is less entertaining. (You might risk knocking off your own counters for the win in tournament rules but that would be silly with traditional)
