I was in a group in 2014 and found another (at the time) best tutorial out there for my (ex) guitar player for this tune. It was correct, but cumbersome to play. Your tutorial is not only the easiest to play, its dead on accurate like all the others. This channel is the best!

Too funny, I found your channel when I was learning Jerry Reed's Amos Moses (to do a parody song about the persecuted PA whole milk dairy Farmer) Amos Miller. Tonight I just happened to hit that first AWB cut the cake chord and started working out the guitar part. I searched you tube to see how close I was, and your channel popped up... again. I may have to finally get serious and learn how to play one of these guitars I have and have you teach me for realsies. After 50+ years, you'd think I would be "buckethead" by now. My main problem is trying to find people that know the songs I like... old Faces tunes, obscure stones (spider & the fly), zeppelin & hendrix stuff, and I love the soulful blues & funk (Dr Funkenstien anyone). Most of the folks I know want to play country cowboy chords. At least let's jam some bluegrass or some Workingman's dead. I'll be in touch. Hopefully soon. I can't imagine I have much time left

Yes! My favourite song! AWB are an underrated and overlooked band and it is just criminal that more people don't hold them up with the likes of Parliament and Ohio Players, hell, even Wild Cherry get more of a shout out over these guys. Got to see AWB in Cambridge in 2014. Best gig ever!

Eric - I love your videos man. Really done nicely and easy to follow and full of details. I have a couple questions. First, I wonder why your calling the "main" chord C6 (adjusting for the mistake of calling it D6 in the vid)? Seems to me like it's really a fragment of a D9 chord (you've got the root, with your thumb, the 7, the 9 and the 5, right?). I.e., the key center of the song is D...not C; so it seems like D9, with it's dom 7, is really the right way to interpret that chord, no? Next question, the two turn around chords on the intro which you refer to as Bm7b5 and Em7b5...isn't it easier to think of them as fragments of G9 and C9? The G9 is just the IV chord in D (dom) and C9 is built on the dom 7 of the D, the tonic. I think of half-diminished chords as the VII chord in a major scale...so they don't really seem to fit here. They're just an inversion of the 9 chords... Anyway, great playing and lesson!

Love your lessons Eric, great job,but to clarify the D6 chord at minute 3, wouldn't that be an A minor Inversion ( C,E,A) with a d base. Wouldn't It need a B note to add the 6th? Love too see your take on AWBs Put It Where You Want It .

In the end the chord is supposed to a D9th which is an extended D7th play it at the 5th fret and you'll see what I mean.His chord is the same without the 3rd.

I’m a bass player and I love the way you teach. You really break the song down, not just showing us the chords, but fingering and slow speed as well. I always wanted to play guitar but was intimidated by how to finger chords. You make it so easy by showing the proper fingering.
