I am a high school freshman and am only realizing now that I want to play in college. I am trying my best to make it on an ecnl team but so far I can only make an elite edp team. Is it too late if I only make it by my sophomore year?

You will be fine if you keep grinding. Attend id Camps from schools/coaches that fit your playing style and economic reality. Play up in age groups as soon as you can. Play with boys if possible. Keep focusing on getting better and get video footage from games when possible. I sign nearly every kid that comes through my system (WE DO NOT PLAY in the ECNL, MLS next, blah blah blah or attend expensive out of town tournaments) and I can say with confidence that all the talk about these levels of club soccer for development is mostly hype. You got this!!

Would love to see this break down in Dallas and our region? We travel 5+ hours for our league games. Our club has opportunity to be pre encl, then ECNL Girls. It’s hard to explain to other parents the opportunity here in Amarillo , Tx of traveling and playing in TX Club Soccer League out of Dallas Tx. You explain this well! Thanks

It is basically the same. Anything under ECNL, GA, or ECNL RL is put in the lowe tier category. I used to drive 3 hours just for training. It is not a good system, but college coaches prioritize those they can see the most. So if it is too far you must go to twice as many camps.

My daughter is going to be u12 next year and has a chance to go to a team that has girls teams in encl and encrl, I’m struggling if I should put her in now, or wait until after puberty to see where she’s at physically

Earlier the better for college soccer. Happiness and fun comes first

What about GA and DPL? I imagine GA is better than DPL. However, stay on a top GA or go to ECRL?
@collegesoccerguy2 жыл бұрын
Great question. DPL is below GA. I would need to know more about your daughters level, aspirations, and her coaches. Would you like to set up a call?

Just train up in age groups locally, train with boys when possible. ECNL teams are overrated.

is edp on tier 3?
@collegesoccerguy2 жыл бұрын
I would say so yes. But the main thing to remember is exposure-wise, below ECNL it is very limited so you need to be proactive. Even those in ECNL will not get recruited unless they are proactive

My daughter played in a pool with ECNL players, however she was rostered on the RL. They had college coaches at most of their games and tournaments. All of the girls who wanted to play in college got offers, including my daughter. In the RL there are players at DI, DII & DIII schools. Due to covid, my daughter took a gap year and played in Italy for a year. She made a women’s team and played through the soccer program, and the team games all year. It was great because it gave her time to really develop more critical thinking on the field. She doesn’t want to play after college, so she is focusing on her major which isn’t offered at many schools, so she is going to a DIII school outside of Boston. She got other offers, but this one felt like home. Let them figure out their path. Her’s is to work in fashion journalism, so Italy was great for soccer & fashion, she learned a lot about both. Take soccer out of the picture, and make sure they will still be happy with their choice. Injuries are unpredictable-guide them, but listen to them. There is so much pressure, you want to make sure they are in a place that is a good fit.

@@collegesoccerguy can you do a pyramid for girl’s soccer in Texas? My daughter plays FDL and is ready to move up to GA because that’s what the organization offers. We would need to switch organizations to join a ECNL team.

Thank you for this video!We're moving to California because my daughter is very serious about soccer. She is very small but has lots of talent. We would like some advice and guidance as we navigate the system. Would it be okay to connect with you to ask a few questions? We also have video of her that we can share. Thanks!!!

Great channel, what advise would you give me to lead my 7 year old daughter to play a top college soccer team one day? We are in So Cal
@collegesoccerguy2 жыл бұрын
where in socal are you? On my tik tok @collegesoccerguy nad my Instagram @zevfutbol I just posted the best teams to play on for girls wanting to play college soccer. The best thing she can do is have fun play a lot and start going to tryouts with the "bigger club teams"
@brian78975 ай бұрын
🤦 she 7, the earliest you start worrying about that is U13. Let her pretend to be ponies or whatever. Keep her off television and video games. Encourage running, jumping, and climbing. Get into a travel club AP program. Around U11 you might start seeing travel teams labeled PRE-ECNL that you can join. If you do EVERYTHING completely right, chances are far less than about 1 in 1000 that she plays in college. The chances of looking at a 7 year old and thinking she plays in college is %0.015.

Just get her to love the game, everything else will fall in place.
