lot of great information in the video that got missed/passed over in other guides which helped me decide what I wanted to play. I especially liked the inclusion of how your identity gauge fill rate will look like in tier 1 so people won't get disappointed when they actually start playing and realize it doesn't fill up as fast as the people showcasing deathblade with high specialization made it out to be. Also the tip about filling two orbs plus a little extra is enough for getting the 3rd tier of remaining energy buff rather than having to fill 3 up all the way is something I found quite useful. thanks for the video and explanations! It was definitely helpful. Being tier 1 with low spec seems so weird because after the identity skill attack theres like ~10 seconds to wait for maelstrom to restart the rotation. So during that 10 seconds I just feel useless D:

Void strike generates a lot more orbs than soul absorber using the other tripod, only down side is you cant change the direction of the attack

Do you pop your identify and 3 full orbs or 2 full orbs? I dont see any different between the two in term of buffs

you're right in terms of buff, but not in terms of damage uptime with respect to cooldown reduction. 3 full orbs gives more cdr over 2 full orbs, which allows you to have a higher uptime on skills, which in turn translates into higher dps. later in t3, when you have more spec, and/or when you have purple/gold wealth runes, you can fill 3 orbs in one rotation

Why does Polestar with Orb Control is not good for this build? As this build needs to gain the Death Orb Meter quickly, this would be another skill that gives a lot of it. What's your thoughts?

The biggest downside to Polestar is that it is not synergetic with Super Charge engraving and the animation locks you in melee range for the entire duration of the skill. But in the end, if it works for you, then it works for you! Having extra skills that increase orb meter gain is not a bad idea. I played Remaining Energy in RU and currently playing Surge in NA. Surge has been more convenient with low spec stat. I may change back to Remaining Energy much later.

which are the first 3 engraving u would suggest? i am parking my deathblade at 1325 and thinking about remaining/ supercharge and then..adrenaline or ambush master?

sounds good either way you go. if you want to maximize dps, then ambush master is the way to go as long as you focus back attacks. adrenaline will be more forgiving if you can't hit the back as often. (personally, i would choose ambush master). class and supercharge are perfect first two engravings

How much do the last skill altering tripods factor into gauge fill? For example if I take double wave on fatal wave or dual strike on blitz rush?

You'll have to test it, but typically, every tick of damage helps fill the gauge.

When I have a lot of Z meter, should I use spells then Z or is it better to Z then use spells? When should I use the second activation of Z? I feel like it's a double edged sword. I get the big damage burst but then I no longer get the Z mode atk and cooldown buff. best build for lv 40? i have enough books to get 1 engraving but im not sure remaining energy or surge.

without the class engraving, it's better to Z then skills. Use second Z when main damage skills are on cooldown. Leveling builds can be found on maxroll for lost ark

If you're going Remaining Energy, get this for your class engraving books, and then super charge on your battle engraving books

good video, this build is difficult to master? I like the remaining energy theme more than the burst one, but I don't want to play for months to get bored and switch to burst or create a new character, not saying it should be as hard as gunslinger/deadeye, but enough to keep me entertained? From 1 to 10, how difficult would it be to master?

unfortunately, i'm not an expert by any means, so consider the following a personal opinion: I can't make the judgement call for you whether you will be bored, but there's plenty to learn, and I personally consider learning to be fun. I like it when I can show off how good I am, and I think Deathblade is a class that can provide that sort of "learning joy". I don't know how difficult it would be to master compared to other classes because of my minimal experience with other classes. Note that Deathblade is a melee class, meaning it's hard simply by being melee (compared to range) and harder doubly because it's also a backattack-based class. Burst build makes it triply hard because you really need to know the boss content to land the hits you need to land; not forgiving when you miss. Challenge is fun for me, so I am actually considering maining Deadeye (couldn't play much Deadeye in RU because of ping issues). But I had PLENTY of fun with Deathblade in RU (1415 ilvl).

use Z, Z as long as you have two orbs filled so that you get the tier 3 remaining energy. the tier 3 remaining energy buff > Z buff at two orbs.

Identity Z (going into form) will always lower cooldown regardless of which class engraving you use. The amount of cooldown depends solely on specialization stat

The identity skill "Z", which I believe is translated as "Burst" for the West (not to be confused with the engraving called Burst in KR). So "Z" to start the buff form, then "Z" again to do the slash

wow I had no idea you only needed 2 orbs to get the full benefit of lvl3 RE. I was filling all the way to 3 orbs and was thinking it felt a little odd bc everything would be on CD and I was close to 3 orbs

so yes, 2 orbs for full benefit of lvl3 RE, BUT you do lose the cooldown benefit of 3 orbs (i.e., you will get more cd reduction with 3 orbs over 2 orbs when using blade arts)

So RE Deathblade's playstyle is charging up with identity guage (Death Orbs) with your regular skills then using Blade Surge for one big attack and rinse and repeat right?

Yep! Tbf you need wealth runes, tripods, and spec stat that increase your orb gain for a smoother rotation. It's not so easy to rinse and repeat if you're lacking orb gain.
