Dendera drumming, as demonstrated by my friend Carlton Mparutsa, who plays for Sulumani Chimbetu. Zimbabwean groove at its best!

Clean, accurate and above all musical! The musicality is the shining example here while accompanied by perfect timing and execution. Not just technical but also musical. All encompassing says this guy

The snare pattern he is playing is not what he counts out, except right at the end of the count where he lays that snare stroke on the final 16th of the bar. If you're at all familiar with son clave, the snare pattern seems to be son clave with the first stroke anticipating the one rather than right on it.

You're right! When he plays the main groove tha snare falls not on the *ONE* but on the last 16th note like this ||:oooô|ooôo|ooôo|ôooô :||

...and yeah - that makes it pretty close to 3-2 son clave :D

It is awesome but it sounds like seben to me
@Eriki4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, almost like a crossover between sungura and seben.. ^_^
