Oh thank you so much! I came across the didgeridoo in an odd way - I play guitar and piano. I am recovering from pneumonia and read somewhere that the didgeridoo helps the lungs recover just like the plastic tubes that you blow into - your doctor provides a person recovering from pneumonia with one. looking forward to a great adventure!

This is so helpful. Thank you. I bought this didgeridoo about 20 years ago. I didn't even know what it was. I just was drawn to it. It has had a spot on my wall for over two decades. THEN, all these years later I began learning about frequencies and the power of sound in worship. I saw someone playing a didgeridoo and the resonance filled me up with joy, especially since I recognized that "art piece" on my wall was a gift from Yah. I am so grateful. Again, thank you.

I'm new to the didgeridoo. I love it's sound. Most world musical instruments required the instrument be tuned exactly. It appears that the didgeridoo requires that the body and sensors and mind and soul to be in order, in order to play. I will pursue this...

I know this is a year old, but I might be helpful. It should be a relaxed, gentle pressure. Don't mash it in, but you can certainly relax into it a bit. Basically the minimum pressure that allows a consistent sound. I'm a trombone player, primarily, but I play around with a didgeridoo, and the embouchure is very similar.
@larsgundy6 жыл бұрын
Also, yes, there is a seal in the sense that no air should be escaping outside of the didgeridoo, but it shouldn't be an intense seal at all.

Came to the concept of Didgeridoo from a fictional story with a main character from Australia, the writer took special pains to really flesh out the culture and history not just a cheesy "crocodile Dundee" stereotype. Anywho built myself a practice Didgeridoo from some PVC and cardboard tubes. One of these days I want to actually take at least a few lessons from someone who knows their stuff. But until then, this seems to be a very good tutorial.

I've always been interested in the fascinating sound of the didgeridoo, but never knew exactly how that VERY cool sound is produced. Now I understand, so thank you! It looks to me like not everyone would be able to successfully play this instrument, because some people just have very thin lips (or even almost NO lips, in some cases), and it looks like having full, fleshy lips would make the best didgeridoo players. Or am I wrong?
