Thank you for your opening comments. Exactly where my head is at; you helped me lose the feeling of guilt for wanting to step away for awhile.

there’s a LOT of powerful content in this .. like over 100 chords doing major drop2s and inversions alone. that inner movement explanation is the simplest one i’ve heard yet!!! 🙏🏾

God Bless You Davin! 🙏 I wanted to comment and tell you thanks personally for breaking down drop 2 the way you did. It was of a blessing to me. ☺️ Also I hear in the beginning that you stopped playing in church because the style of music was not sufficient as far pushing you or challenging you? Why would you give that up? Instead of just playing something more challenging or tasteful at home or during your down time. Anyways. Keep your head up, stay safe and God bless you!. #NeverGiveUp

What up bro! 😀 Bro, I don’t know if you play CCM but there is very little creatively. Not that it matters all the time, but I’d rather have a good attitude about it. I also lead worship and that’s my primary responsibility, Coordinating teams, planning music, creating videos, emails, planning events. And I realized I didn’t HAVE TO play as the songs didn’t require me to do it. So It was just one factor in many for me giving it up at church. I still work on it for me and to share the knowledge that im learning

@@PlayCreatively I don’t really play much CCM. We listen to it and basically reharm for Spanish style of like a ballad in a sense. I see that you are a very busy man. I hope you continue that intimacy with God above all things, then everything else will fall into alignment. #GodHasYourBack I truly enjoy your videos man. They inspire me to continue learning and striving to become the best for my Heavenly Father!

I’ve been looking for the term with left hand voicing since forever. When I play inverted…will I still keep the same hand placement?

Whn learning the song or changing the song to drop 2 voicings, do you change your CCM in your head, or do you write it out? Is every chord drop 2? How do you decide whn to use drop 2 voicing? Thank you in advance.
@PlayCreatively2 жыл бұрын
Good question. I start writing everything out first. Over time certain things become second nature. But I need to see it. I then experiment with what drop 2 works and doesn’t work. Sometimes they all work and sometimes a few may not be helpful

I enjoy your teaching method. Adding the 9th muddies things up in some cases and then piling the 1 on top makes it worse. Too much sonic information conflicts with the melody, which I feel should be able to be heard to stand out instead of your ear straining to find it. Playing chords with the melody note on top is very pleasing to the ear. That sounded good when you did it. Then you buried the melody among several other notes.
