PLEASE MORE OF THIS!!! it is a barren wasteland when it comes to hero guides in dota 2. please please please more hero specific content. I noticed when you do coaching sessions a lot of mistakes end up being "this is just something you learn by playing" but hero guides you make let me do this way way faster. I remember when i was playing razor for the first few times that I started playing dota 2 and I never realized I could just spam ult to farm with the ability. i also kept leveling my link when i didn't need to and could level the Q to get more wave clear. i also was always in this mentality that every hero scaled linearly like an antimage or medusa where you get items and you start to own since you are item dependent but until i started playing support i realized that there are some heroes that just do not care about items or rather stat items really like shadow shaman or lion or enigma who's abilities work well without them. knowing skill build, item build, how the hero wants to play the map, their timings, matchups, when to draft etc. just feels so much smoother to get into new heroes and try them all rather than going into a game first time with a hero and feeling bad because you made your team lost.

I main Drow and have been for quite some time now. Most of these tips I already knew, however there were some great tips I was not utilizing regarding item builds and farming techniques. I incorporated these tips in my game and at first it got worse. I was outside of my comfort zone trying to use items I normally don’t use against certain heroes but as I pushed through and kept practicing it actually in the long run helped my game to be much better.

One note about Scepter on Drow. The bounces procc orb effects, giving 3x proccs of maelstrom, 3x lifesteal proccs, 3x Frost Arrow spread. Paired with Satanic, Drow is hard to kill as long as she can avoid disarms and stuns

I'm mostly a mid or support player, queued mid and safe lane. Applied the concepts BSJ discussed here when I saw I got a Treant support, Mars offlane, and was up against 3 melees. I did a shitload of damage mid-late game. Though the talents and patch may change eventually, what is most important are the fundamentals and concepts covered here in detail. Excellent guide, highly recommended!

@maquih3 жыл бұрын
it's great for heroes that want to run into the teamfight, so most melee carries or even heroes like luna. but for drow, it's more about staying on the edge of fights and not getting jumped on, although some games where she is 100% getting jumped on regardless (like against storm spirit et al.) then bkb can still be good on her.

Would be cool if you made a guide for a carry that do mixed damage, like Gyrocopter or Luna. These heroes rarely buy kite or escape items, so would be interesting to see how one would approach this playstyle from your point of view. Especially since the heroes I mentioned do not have a kit that would make sense to use from the backlines, like drow has/does.

Tip for drow players if you want to get good. Go back and briefly watch your replays. Pay careful attention to gust usage and positioning. Often drow players will gust just as an opener, when it didn’t really need to be committed. GL! This was a 40% win rate hero of mine, but with dedication I’m up to almost 60% with 300 ranked games. I’d say mastering the lane stage was the hardest for me. She can be difficult to last hit with, especially compared to a melee hero or a clinkz.

1)Frost arrow orb attack 2)Wraith band when harresing or quelling blade for other things Drow is strong number at level 1 and she is good at harresing but with a tanky support 3)Gust is preferred against the Heroes who can jump on you like Earth spirit etc 4) Silence tp silence the enemy and tp so that you don't get interuppted 5)Drow usually go to jungle at level 6 as she is squishy and vulnerable to be ganked Pro tip: Don't waste your tp on drow usually use tp on drow to escape

I might have missed it but why did BSJ's strategy prioritise Multi-shot in Game 1 and right-clicking in Game 2? I thought it might be because Game 1 was safer for channeling but they had Winter Wyvern, Nyx and Mars - all of whom can punish someone standing still.
@BB8enjoyer3 жыл бұрын

Bsj, what about picking sage mask into basileus early game? I found it really useful at the laning stage or even jungle. I usually start off with wraith band components, Sage mask and tango, after runes and like couple early cs i can instantly call for w band recipe + finish basi. You rarely run into mana problems with this setup for really low cost so it highly enables trades and better last hitting (with frost arrows)

How about Drow + Venge lane? Does that still work in this patch?
@samellington88043 жыл бұрын
If they have weak laners in the offlane that can't output a lot of damage quickly. Things like SK (at early levels), pudges, bounty hunters, then yes you can hard bully with something like a drow venge lane. Definitely want to have last pick if you see your support is a venge though to make sure you know what you'll be up against. Even in this kind of situation, though, you need to be very careful about your positioning as, if they do get on top of you, you're probably just dead, venge stun isn't going to fix that. Keep them low and keep your own health high.
