EXCELLENT!!! I have fast fingers, but it came from training my BRAIN. The brain needs to know the FEEL of passage played correctly. This is when I practice very slowly; and once my brain gets it, I begin speeding things up little by little. My fingers respond without my thinking "oh, here come those thirds" or whatever else. It just does it automatically. It's no different than walking.

We all know...if you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly 😂 (sorry, I just have to comment it, I actually really enjoy your videos though I’m a pianist. Interesting to see how other instruments deal with their specific problems)

I'm the only person who's very quickly progressed with the Flute and I'm planning on auditioning for my dram highschool with the Flute, along with auditioning for acting. Performing arts program yk? So this is very helpful information for me to absorb. Thank you.

@flutechannel4 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it is. With practice of foundations (scales, etc) and sight-reading something new everyday (even a easy etude) will ease your body and build confidence. All of this will in turn let you focus a bit on your posture and hand position so that you feel even more relaxed. I hope that helps.

You are very good at explaining things. I have a problem with balancing the flute. I want to get to the point where I can get around the flute non-chromatically and the flute not move. I tttry to catch what you are saying about the ergonomics of playing the flute and the alignment of the body, but you use a lot of visuals and I am blind. Can you be a little more verbally descriptive when you are doing something visual? I love your channel! Thanks for all the tips!

Hey so I’m a beginner flute and so I just don’t get why boys get criticized for playing the flute ?🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@livorourke23695 жыл бұрын
I think flute has just become a stereotypical girls instrument, which is kind of sad. Its probably because it's more of a pretty instrument than a powerful instrument. In my 15 person flute section at my high school there are only 2 guys, they don't get criticized for it or anything by the people at my school.

Don’t feel bad bro. Look into James Galway. He is a master flutist with an amazing sound. A flute is an instrument and anyone can play it. 💯❤️🔥

Emmanuel Pahud. James Galway. Jeanne-Pierre Rampal. Just those three easily negate such unwitting naysayers! (P.S., of the middle school students I tutor, over half are male. Go figure, that.)
