I play it at school and its not like 1 2 3 4 its like peasant, soldier, queen and king, the king starts with the ball

@@mikehunt7548Right? Ten years? Shoot. I haven't been in school since 2007. And that was my college days. I haven't had recess since about 2002! I'm just here coming up with ideas for the kids at my daughters bus stop to do.

This is how we play handball/four square in our school, First there are four squares which are baby(lowest) Jack(2nd lowest) Queen(2nd highest) and King(highest) King serves either normally, ace sos or sos ace. Normally serving is where you bounce in your square then someone else’s square then their square and someone else’s square and so on. Ace is where you bounce the ball directly in someone’s square whiteout bouncing in your square first. Sos is when you go out of your square and play outside of their square then it bounces inside their square. And lastly sos ace is when you go out of your square and drop it straight in their square. For our school we use a small bouncy ball like a shape of an egg but two times bigger. Here are ways to get out, if you bounce it outside of the squares, play a straight(which is bouncing in someone else’s square before your square) or a dirty serve which is when you serve it higher than people’s heads. If the ball bounces on the lines than Queen serves(2nd highest) if someone bounces it somewhere and the king doesn’t know what happened they can call a redo where you start over. King can give privilege to someone which is when the person who got privilege serves. If it bounces on you toe first then baby serves(lowest) and that’s how we play handball/four square

Okay lemme explain 4 square in my words So basically there are four squares, peasant, civilian, queen and king. The least is peasant and the best is king. If you hit outside of the square or if you hit the line, you're out. If you hit it in your ownsquare, you are also out. If someone gets out, you move up one square. Say, the king got out, the queen would move up into the kings square, the civilian to the queen, and the peasant into the civilian square, and a new player would join. That's the basics

There most be some wokeness nonsense going on with the video calling the blocks 1,2,3 & 4. When we were kids the hierarchy was similar to yours King, Queen, Jack and Joker. We did not have a free fault do over rule either.

Let me explain the rules from the version I play. 4th sqaures starts with ball, bounce the ball once, and serve it ANY way they like. (Below two hits though). Ball bounces into sqaure once. If it bounces more than 1 time your out. Double hits and snake eyes are alowed. Lines are redos. Truces are a thing but usually dont last. If you fail to hit the ball, your out. Body blows are out, powers/power hits are out (sometimes) Shoe shines are redos. Players advance in a counter clockwise rotation. Over hand hits are allowed. You can also sometimes hit whith your head.

Zamm My area has very different rules The ball has to bounce in your square before bouncing in the opponents The ball is smaller and made of rubber If bounces above your head its Lines are redo Doubles are out If the ball it’s someone or something that’s not in the game it’s an interference and redo There are still four roles King queen jack and toilet If the ball bounces in your square then gets out your out If you get the king out they can do kings revenge where they 1v1 the person who eliminated them If king loses their out If king wins they are now out of revenges and are out if they get eliminated If the ball doesn’t bounce in your square before landing in the opponents your out but if the opponent keeps playing it a carry and there out and if another person carries it’s a Carrie carrie and so on I think this version is way more complicated

@@Dingleman-bw9qfmine is similar but different. I go 2 1 3 4. And we have roles such as peasant 1 jack 2 queen 3 king 4. King must serve peasant and inside line are out. Volley is allowed and power shots are always allowed. Overarm hits are allowed and volley is not to be done on The serve. Double hits are immediately out. The rules are annoying.

the french version of this game is a bit different so instead of 1,2,3,4 its king, queen, joker, target the king starts and everyone can only bounce the ball once so when he bounces it has to bounce in his square then to another if the ball bounces twice its called "rebound" when the person who touches the ball doesnt bounces it in his square but bounces directly to the other ones square then its called "direct" when someone touches the ball twice then its called "double touch" when u bounce in ur square but then to off bounds its called "off bounds" but if it bounces in ur square then in another ones square and it go off bound its called "you idiot u didnt touch the ball" when you do one of these breaking rules you go to the target rank and the lower ranks go up a rank this game is called "paume"

I grew up in California and we played this same exact version. required one bounce in your square before bouncing in the opponents I don’t know why all the American videos say the ball must bounce directly into the opponents square

For our school we have King, Queen, Jack/Dunce and baby for last. King serves and plays to any other square A serve consists of a noice into your square and a bounce into someone else square. If you hit the ball straight into another players square the player who hit the ball is out. If the ball bounce twice in your square before or after you hit the ball you are out. However if it bounces in your square you hit it, it hits the ground again you are not out. I the ball bounces on the line Queen serves and you resume play. Death match is a thing you can say while passing to another player. If the say accept they accept but if you say decline it’s been declined. If the player accepts the death match you do a 1v1 until someone gets out. But if you win and you are in baby for example and you defeat queen for an example you then skip Jack/dunce and go straight to queen but if queen wins baby is out. If the ball rolls at any point of the game you redo. Also, king can alter some rule like, head-butting the ball straight into someone’s square or something like that. If there is any argument the king has final say. But if the decision is too hard to make king can redo the whole round. That basically covers most of our rules. This tool ages so please like! 😅

1: free fault is not something I have ever seen 2: this is under cherries rules, normally you have to hit the ball once in your square too

@@Owl62 it’s probably something else in wherever you are, but basically if your game has cherries you can call out “cherry” and hit the ball full into an opponents square instead of yours and then theirs.

This how we play in my school: For the person in four or king as some people call it they can choose who starts with it. If they get the ball they don't bounce it and then serve. They throw it up into the air and the ball HAS to touch the ground or else if you touch the ball when it is in the air you are OUT. If the ball hits outside your square that player that served is OUT. If the ball hits line the person who passed the ball is out. Nobody gets a free fault in my school, if you miss the ball your out. If the ball hits your foot or something that isn't your hands you are out. If you pass the ball to someone and it hits your own square then you are out. If you slam the ball into another players square and it hits outside their square you are out. If you slam it a bit too hard and it hits into their square but instead of bouncing forward it bounces upwards and goes above their head then you are out, that is called a tower. There are 3 Kinds of 4 square in my school. There is simple 4 square which I just explained. There is king square which the numbers represent each role. 1: Peasant 2: Jack 3: Queen 4: King In king square there are large squares, larger then four square four squares. If you touch the ball you serve it. Serving is when you throw it up like in four square. King square is very competitive in my school so if you play with someone who is always feisty and likes to fight a lot don't get them out accidentally. If the ball hits line they other person who served or hit that ball is out. If you pass to someone and it hits your own square you are out. There is no 2 taps there is only 1. So I think that's it? Then there is almighty 2 square which no one plays.: 2 Square is like four square but you can hit the ball as many times as you want depending on how many people are in line. If there are 3 you can do 3 tap. If there are 6 you know the drill. In two square its basically the same with four square. Edit: Sorry it's so long :)

My school plays by bouncing the ball ONCE on the square after touching it and it has to go to the other persons square after they bounced it

At my school we do what we call cornering, which we attempt to slam the ball into a neighboring square, nearly touching the corner, then it bounces out and yay they are out

Ha I laugh at this!! I play this game very frequently but it is more fun with these rules: 1. No second chances. 2. You can hit the ball mid air let it bounce in your own square and then hit it again. AKA Hit bounce hit 3. Like Hit bounce hit except you let it bounce, hit it, let it bounce again in your own square the hit it to another player. AKA bounce hit bounce hit 4. Underhand shots only. 5. If you hit a middle line (the lines dividing the squares) you're out. These simple rules increase the fun factor of the game by at least 10 times try them out. Though they are better for already decent players.

in my school we call it champ so some of the rules is 1. You cant double touch when the ball comes to your box 2. if you get out on the first serve the game starts again and your safe (we just shout "first serve" and that person doesnt get out) 3. You cant continue so if someone gets out like double touching or the ball goes in their box and they dont get it but you play on, your out and that person is safe 4. you cant slam, so if you bounce the ball and it goes over the persons height or you slam and its impossible to get, then your out (you can only do this on the first serve in the middle) 5. if the ball goes on the lines then the game redos and your safe 6. you can only use on hand 7. you can redo if you feel like you got out unfair (tbh i abuse these rules bc i bought the ball and i can do whatever i want but i still keep it fair) 8. if you are no.1 (champ) you serve first 9. you are allowed to hold the ball but only with one hand so you can do some cool tricks if someone tries to get you out 10. dont get into an argument this game can be toxic or really sweaty 11. if it hits your legs the game redos like it hit lines 12. if the ball goes to your box and you miss the persons box you were trying to hit (it goes out) then your out unless it hits lines 13. play the game have fun
