America adhered to the treaties at first, producing ships that were almost spot on with the displacement limits, especially with light and heavy cruisers. We mostly followed the battleship displacement limit in the North Carolina and South Dakota classes, except that we weighed displacement when the ships' fuel and water tanks were completely empty. But it was because of the treaty that we chose the "all or nothing" armor scheme. It wasn't til just before and after WW2 hostilities broke out that we kicked the treaty restrictions to the curb and began building heavier cruisers and battleships. But that was motivated by our discovery that the Japanese and Germans were ignoring the treaty limits and building MUCH heavier ships with more armor and more guns! We would've been fools to stick to the treaty at that point...

I am glad that I finish the grind of the richelieu and got the Alsace it's going somehow to the Lyon, good speed and good secondaries killer salvos if they hit properly, can't complaint.

What is your opinion about the Jean Bart and the Bourgogne? I think the idea is okay, and the implementation, well, can't really tell something about that with the changes to the JB and wasn't able to see the Bourgogne yet (but looks interesting, a battleships with 38knts thanks to speed boost :-D).

Wow this is the first video of yours i've seen,yet i am impressed. how on earth do you play like that while making a commentary. this is not a replay,isnt it? 2 things i would like to mention 1) why you did not mention at all the engine boost special upgrade 2)I understand and i respect you are American and you have learned some things in a particular way,however i believe it would be more appropriate for the majority atleast to not speak about inches or pounds. I have no clue how much an inch or a pound or feet or whaetever is in comparison to meters,etc. Apart from that really well made video, i found it very enlighting and usefull since i recently unlocked alsace. Have a nice day

Just working off of what you said regarding the use of specific metric terms. I am an American. I have been schooled rigourously for the last fifteen years of my life. Over that period of time I have come to learn many things, including the metric system of measurements for weight, distance, and speed. And while many of the measurements for these types of technical data is often measured in metric units, to say that it is more appropriate then to use them is not a given. The United States of America has roughly three hundred and thirty million people living in it. It has a larger landmass than the entirety of continental Europe. Compared to the population of said continent, where a large portion of the player base for this game lives, the United States lags in terms of population by many tens of million. However, one must then consider the next, most important factor regarding these videos. How many of those people are fluent in, or know, English? That reduces the number to a few million spread across continental Europe and roughly fifty five million in the United Kingdom. Now, answer me this if you can. What gives you the right to say that it is more appropriate to use the metric measurements when the likely outcome of that debate is that more people from the United States watch Whiskey than do Europeans? Why should Whiskey, in his commentating, exclusively use said metric system, when the numbers are quite clearly provided for you in the statistics of the ship? Since he is an American, and uses the Imperial measuring system with inches and pounds, does that make his analysis any less valid than if he catered to your idea that metric is the only valid system and should be used to the exclusion of all else? I do not deny that metric is clean and precise. It is as it is. But to use inches, pounds, and any other Imperial measurement is a normal task for we Americans. So no, I do not think he should pander to your views, nor should he entirely gloss over the metric values. Which if you pay attention, he most clearly blends the two in a comfortable mix to please Americans with Imperial measurements, and Europeans with the metric system.

Hmm... can't say I've suffered too many of these problems before. Alsace was pretty potent last I played her. Those 15" guns are no joke.

Nope! The Marine Nationale (French Navy) operated the fourth most powerful Navy at the onset of WWII... throughout the war many ships were flipped from fighting on behalf of the Vichie French (the Nazi controlled French Navy) or the Free French Navy operating out of Africa, Britain, or other French Colonies in the Pacific.

"Technically" the French Navy was never under German Control. The Vichy French did sortie the bulk of the French Navy (that didn't defect to Britain or the US) on patrols in the Mediterranean but it was the fears of the French Navy falling into German hands that lead to two major naval battles in WWII and one of only a handful of naval actions the French Navy participated in. Those battles being the Naval Battle of Mers-El-Kebir and the Naval Battle of Casablanca. The former is particularly interesting as it is often referred to by the French as "The British Betrayal at Mers-El-Kebir". If you read nothing else of French WWII Naval History, I'd highly recommend reading the history about the Battle of Mers-El-Kebir as it shows exactly the level of tension between France and the United Kingdom after the fall of France in 1940. The fear of the Marine Nationale falling into the hands of Germany and the hubris of the French Admiralty were in full swing. The Royal Navy Attacks at both Mers-El-Kebir and Casablanca, the later with US support, showed just how far the UK was willing to go to prevent the Kriegsmarine from capturing the French Navy. That fear would be later proven to be unfounded (although the French Admiralty was still pretty full of themselves) when the Germans began occupying Vichy French territories, including an attempt to seize the French Naval Assets in Toulon. The French Navy scuttled itself to prevent capture as per what they told the allies they would do if the Germans ever attempted to seize their navy. Everyone focuses on the sinking of the Bismarck, or Scharnhorst or the entire Pacific's Naval Battles when focusing on naval history in the mid 20th century but the really fascinating battles happened between the various Vichy or Free French Naval Forces and the opposing Allies or Axis navies. Some really cool history there!

Ja Be then you must be new everyone knows French bb’s are good against AP and bad against HE same with German ships I haven’t had any of these issues your having Besides catching fire but that’s a given for any ship
