LIam, This is so Brilliant. You are very kind and generous to share your knowledge. The way you have put this together visually is amazing and the way you sound is perfect. Tempo is perfect so the notes really seem to seep in and stay there. At what point do you think your students should move to adding another octave ?

Thank you for your support, Tommy! I only picked 60 BPM because it made editing videos of identical length a lot easier ;) Add octaves at your discretion! Of course, add octaves to the more common keys first. But once you know them all for one octave, you're c. 80% of the way to learning 2 octaves. You've already done most of the technical and conceptual work! The 15-day challenge is about introducing yourself to all Major keys and how they FEEL to play and read. So many advanced, university-level students have never even TRIED to read in a horrible key. They go through life with anxiety and a hazy grasp of music theory. It's no way to live. This is why I break the ice like this with beginners. When teachers protect their students from ugly key signatures, they are only guaranteeing that those students become fearful and uncertain of what will confront them one day. You can see this panic on the face of beginners when a new piece of music appears on their music stand. Once we know that one key signature is about as tricky as the preceding one, we can go through our musical lives with such confidence!
