Every lesson on Rolling Stones is a gem. Thanks for doing this. Another great live album from them is the El mocambo album, 1977.

Very cool! One person's "sloppy" is another person's energetic, give-a-damn, gritty, soulful, rock and roll rebellion purity. I'll take any garage band pounding out a Stones' cover over a perfectly mixed sterile track any day.

Like your presentations. As a big fan of OpenG/Richards always looking for insights from professionals like you. I got a second Telecaster dedicated to the 5 string method. Wanted to mention I was watching another site that showed if you leave the high E to E you have 4 strings available to easily slip in pentatonic licks into your playing. Looking forward for more insights from the videos you have posted.🎸

Keep 'em coming Blue. I love these little insights into how to give a chord progression that extra life - especially when jamming with others who only know open chords.

I arrived to this site by accident, now I cannot get off my eyes from the screen. I play basic guitar in my church choir but now I think I can get some ideas to sound more impressive!!!! thank you for sharing.

Another great lesson. Love it! I'm not super excited to learn stones songs but I like the concepts. I've seen them live and I know this will get me banned from the internet but I don't think they're all that good live. Too many songs were a mystery until Mick started singing. I don't find that very impressive. Now Jeff Beck, Rush or SRV live, ya that was amazing stuff.

Get-Yer-Ya-Yas-Out is THE awesome album of the Stones. I am not really a Stones fan, at least not a die hard, but it is some truth to the saying that they are still today the best living Rock-n-Roll band on this planet. And that first live album of them can hold easily up to the newer live event at the Copacabana or in Havana.

Very interesting approach, enjoyed the vid and learned from it too! I do love KR's playing and the period he was so creative and the style he developped was fresh and unique. He may have capitalized too much on it but hey, men are men...

True, Keith took these concepts and really ran with them, and after that, he always sounded like Keith. But it was a great sound!

Great lesson, I've watched a few of the Kef lessons. Do you have any tips on getting the ring finger ringing cleanly on the inversion?

It took me a while to get that A chord, but it was worth it, and it's movable 😊, great lesson

To my ears, the Sympathy rhythm part owes quite a lot to Steve Cropper (e.g. Soul Man). Thanks for an excellent video.

That makes sense, you could be right on that. It does have the old RnB style to it

Every time I make a video about Keith Richards this comes up. The five string thing wasn't as common as people think. Plus, it's easy enough to just avoid hitting the low E string. Easier than removing a string.

I don't get it ‼️ Why is everyone saying Keith Richard is a great guitar player ⁉️ Hmmm let see , there's Roy Buchanan, Rory Gallagher, Alvin Lee, Robin Trower, Johnny Winter .......that definitely blows Richards away, yet very few guitar channels recognize them ‼️🤔
@user-jg2nq6ll4cАй бұрын
And Satriani, Beck, Blackmore, Paige, Young ........ the list is endless!!!!
@michaelhalibej3841Ай бұрын
Just because they say Keith Richards is a great guitar player doesn’t mean the others aren’t. Keith Richards has been writing Stones Music for over 50 years. He has crafted his style and music to Rock & Roll with Blues influence. Enjoy your favorites Roy Buchanan, Gallagher, Alvin Lee, Johnny Winter are great. Enjoy their music. There are so many you didn’t mention Muddy Waters, BB King, Jimmy Hendricks, Jimmy Page, Joe Bonomassa, Duane Allman, Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker

Great lesson.
@davemish4163Ай бұрын
All of the guitarists you mentioned play lead primarily. This lesson focuses on Keith's rhythm parts. Rhythm guitar is a lost art. There's plenty of room for everyone, and Keith's rhythm playing is legendary. There are plenty of rhythm guitarists that need attention too, but I never hear people complaining about that.
@humanbeing5300Ай бұрын
They have completely different styles and strengths and weaknesses- there is no point to compare. None of the people you,mentioned have any riffs or songs nearly as famous. Keith’s strengths are syncopated rhythms and memorable songs not lead.
