@@5StringRob No, acid reflux. I have LPR, sometimes I get acid burns on my throat that takes forever to heal and it can affect talking (thankfully not harp this time!).

I have heard there are no wrong notes.....it's the next one that may not fit. Makes sense to me. As you say, course corrections are the key!

Great video! Really appreciate the examples of landing on chord tones, and scale tones. But how would you "accidentally" hit a dissonant note, like a G#, on C harp? I mean you would have to work at getting that 6 draw bend (well, maybe not you, but I definitely would, lol); it just doesn't seem like a note you would hit noodling along to a backing track.

You have to work at it, but in other positions/genres it's more common when you have weirder chords and less friendly note layouts

I do this all the time when jamming live on a song I don't no. The only time it can go a bit off if the song has a has middle eight minor change but most of the time I do just my play and make it sound not too bad.😀

Jonah, I've been trying to learn to improvise and sound musical on the harp for some time. My regular teacher has helped a lot, and you've hit on many of his lesson points. I really like your domos of both the "right" and "wrong" ways to pick notes. I haven't seen that before. I think you hit this one out of the park. We'll done! Why not just get a pentatonic harmonica?

Do you mean the Pentaharp? You can check out my review for that, but the short version is that it takes away everything that makes harmonica fun and compelling to listen to. The bends are not very functional, the notes are in weird places in my opinion, and it's just not very fun to play in comparison to a standard Richter harmonica. Having a little bit of risk is fine as long as you know how to deal with it.
