Mr. Meregillano thank you for transmitting true information. I've seen some guys that claim to have studied with Roy but when they teach pencilexercise they tell you to put it between your lips and blow. They never mention rthe teeth. as if the act of putting pencil in mouth alone is a good thing for embouchure. You are on the money, please keep it up for all those players who can't afford lessons right now. You are a treasure, thank you.

the pencil exercise is importan i discovered when the pressure was on max air is leaking on the left side on my lips does that mean that i must reconsidder my mouthpice plasement the air wil always escape the easyest wayout ?? i normaly plays in the middel

Correct me if I'm Okay i did this and it truly brought my range up a hella lot however it feels as if the wrong muscles are being worked. My cheeks are being worked out and are getting very thick and muscular. does that mean I'm doing wrong?

Are you muscling your lips inside where the mouthpiece goes? I cant imagine you could be otherwise it would kill the sound right?

I did the pencil exercise for like 10 seconds, and for the first time in my life I played a high E that was fat AND connected. You showed me this a year ago in person, and I feel like I'm only now starting to understand it. Thanks so much Larry!

Is the Costello- Stevens book the same as the kiss or MF embourchure ? That is, a pucker ? That book is not an easy read and I only have the first 48 pages. I respect you trying to explain this difficult thing and thanks so much.

How do you blow air through the pencil? Do you have to make a small hole och remove the actual inc-case and just use the outer body?

Your tutor is correct. There should not be any air pockets between the teeth and the lips

Compression comes from not only the stomach muscles but also the muscles of the face.
