Is the only way for the Lord of the Nazgul to be removed is from an encounter that he is involved in? Or does it go back to the normal player at the beginning of a new day/refresh phase if there is no encounter that day?

Seems its best to just play part 1. Part 2 seems too complex..

I would just play candyland no worries about complexity there.
