Are you talking about interludes between verses? What song/hymn do u want me to illustrate that with?

Senior, thanks for your efforts. Have you ever tried playing the original score of this hymn? It’s found in Hymns Ancient and Modern. Try building your “variations” on top of this original score. Any improvisations/variations should sound technically and musically superior to the original score and not like some cheap imitation. Just my honest opinion.

Best tones? Maybe an advanced keyboard will do. Or play your keyboard through a midi cable into your computer. Apps like Cubase and FL studio make your keyboard sound pretty good.
