This was one of the first songs I learned on guitar. I wish I had known to play the F and G chords the way you play them here. Would have made the song a lot easier to play. Loved your cover at the end. You have a great voice for this song.

Can't thank you enough for this sir ☺️ Can't seem to get my head around this strumming pattern though 😅😢

Hey Joshua, just seeing your comment now. It’s a 4/4 count with a 8th notes strumming pattern. Simple down and up with a slap strum on the 2, 4, 6 and 8. Not easy to explain on an email buts it’s basically: 1&2(slap)&3&4(slap) And simply repeat. Hope that helps

My younger brother wanted to do this song. So he shows it to me in the key of B using barre chords. I'm like, little bro, this is a country song in C. So much easier to play using mostly open chords. Most country songs are in C, G, and F. After I show him, he says, I like it in B, learn your barre chords. I say, I KNOW MY BARRE CHORDS, BUT THIS IS EASIER, AND THE ORIGINAL KEY THAT EDDIE RABBITT WROTE IT IN! Hard headed kid! lol

Regardless of original music. Every single band needs to cater to their own vocal. If it's a strain to sing, either drop the key (kudos to your little bro) or just don't do the song. Simple as that. One thing to note is that you can detune your entire guitar 1/2 a step down to 'Eb Standard' and you'll be able to play the open chords, but now you are playing in the key of 'B' I'm a singer myself. So to cater for my own vocal. All of my guitars are tuned a whole step down in 'D Standard'. If not, I'll be using incorrect technique and will not be able to sing in longevity due to that fact. Final thought. A musician can ALWAYS play better, a singer can only be so good. All in all, cater to your vocalist, not your inability to change keys.

@@rylan.music.x Yes, my brother and I are a duo. I sing about 80% of the songs, he, the other 20%. He doesn't have a great voice, so, I tuned one of my guitars down 1/2 step. And yes, I'm a singer, so, I wish that everyone would have catered to me when I was in 3, 4, and 5 member bands. Most musicians that I played with over 40 years were selfish in nature. That's why I'm in a duo with my brother now. I realized that my brother wasn't going to be able to sing that song properly, so I tuned down. Easy!

F chord is going to Kill me. Thank you much for the video :)
@myacousticlounge3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for commenting. If your struggling with the F chord. Try an F/C chord or as it’s more commonly known as the F major 7. Just don’t hit the high E string when your strumming. It’s much easier to play and no one will even notice.

Hey Spazzz49, thanks for your comment. I send everything through a mixer to make sure levels are the same but when my harmonizer kicks in, it can have a tendency of drowning out the guitar some times. Sorry my friend. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Hope you comment again in the future!
