I never get tired of listening to Jimi Hendrix. Ever since I first heard him as teenager back in the '60s, he knocked me out. He's still the greatest ever.

I really like the way you went over the scale first. Then the rest is much more intuitive when you basically know what’s in the realm of possibility. Thanks for the lesson!

You got me playing better in only 20 minutes. I was pretty feeble with my bends and tended to actually avoid working on them choosing to concentrate on the other parts and not the solos. There is light down at the other end of the tunnel that I can see now and I thank you Peter. You are an outstanding instructor. (Sensational guitar player too.)

I'm a fan of Hendrix, and my overall guitar playing started to get better when I practised the minor pentatonic/Blues scale and people around me said that I was really good. The problem is, you can keep playing the same things and the same style over and over again. Boredom can set in.

I've been playing the guitar since I was a little kid, but when it comes to solo rock, it was the hardest to access! It is the hardest music performed by any instrument, but also the best music! There is no film, spot or any event without rock music in the background

Hi Peter, Just found your channel - looking for some Jimi instruction. This one is excellent. There's some others I will be trying as well - all my favourites, Led Zep, Clapton, etc. It's a shame that it looks as though you have stopped doing videos, having not done any in a while. Thanks for your efforts here!

Watched couple vids on this but urs wow has the perfect angle for helping me learn this,and also the way u help explain is brilliant thank u mate thank u buddy away to do this today love this solo never thought I'd manage it,as I cant use a plectrum only my thumb index and middle fingers as I'm use to playing mark knopfler style stuff but I wanna learn this stuff as it sounds brilliant the plectrum sounds amazing the harmonics and that tone it gives is absolutely breathtaking!! I no the em pentatonic scale blues scale well! Most minor scale major scales! But using a pick! I'm not very good with haha that is my downfall and that's were am going to find it difficult!! I was always use to playing 1 style with my fingers mark knopfler style as my uncle was a massive fan of his he was a great player himself before he past away? So I was use to playing country blues rock style without the plectrum but I wanna use one now and try so I can play both with or without.

This is a great lesson on a great solo. I have been playing for years and can do most of what I consider the "mechanics" of guitar playing pretty well, ie. bends, vibrato, hammer ons, pull offs,etc. HOWEVER for the life of me I just cant seem to do a vibrato at the top of a full step bend. How in the heck did you learn to do that? It is frustrating no end!
@PMcCarthyMusic
@PMcCarthyMusic 6 жыл бұрын
thanks for checking this out and posting. The bending/vibrato can be a bit tricky, LH thumb positioning can help with control, as will the other fingers on the LH. I'd also check out players you dig bending in this style. Feel free to hit me up for a Skype session, I'm sure I can help you if I see what you're doing with your LH...have fun!

When showing the note stop moving your finger it is not helpful especially when that note doesn't have the finger vibrato in the solo it is very confusing
