It took me 2 days to memorize up to 1:49, and now I can play it fairly decently after a week. It helps that I listen to this and the original close to 24/7 apart from sleeping/school(and then since I've memorized the entire melody, I hum it in my head 24/7 at school too) so I basically know exactly how it should sound like :D Thank you for this.

Many have said the slow version should be slower, but you're the first to say the fast version should be faster. So thanks. :) Also, full speed is subjective. It should only be played as fast as it can be played cleanly and steadily. But for the sake of this video, full speed is the tempo marked on the sheet music.

I'm a person who can both sight-read and learn by ear. In fact, I became so over-trained with learning sight reading for a number of years, I kind of forgot the way I played for the first 10 or so years of my life was by listening and picking out the things I heard. After becoming an amateur sound engineer and learning how to use loops and sound-generating platforms, it was the perfect way to marry both of those skill sets. Notes on a page can be gruellingly difficult to visualize whilst playing on a piano layout -- especially regarding songs with a tempo above 140 BPM. Therefore....I love things like this that bridge the gap.

I learned this song a while back, and I have one piece of advice: if you can't read music, learn how to. This is infinitely easier by reading it. I cant even imagine how long it would take to learn by watching videos. Also, the song has some complex rhythms. Sheet music guides you right through them, but you can't get the full picture by watching this. Good luck! :)
@thomasgorman65139 жыл бұрын
True, but this can give you a better sense of where to put emphasis and stuff like that. I've gotten help for complicated rhythms by watching these things. But that's probably me just being weird.
@reevrob9 жыл бұрын
+Zephyr Your advice isn't applicable to all and definitely not infinitely easier. Some of us can read notes and play widow, and watching this makes it faster to learn.

It's actually a lot simpler than it seems, just MAKE SURE you follow the fingerings as written in the music. By that I mean this: It seemed to me like it was alternating LRLRLRL throughout the part when I watched the video, but it's actually mostly left hand. Use your thumb for the bottom notes of the chord, and practice slowly to learn the alternation. RRLRR RLRRLRR, RRRLRR etc. Left isn't used much at all.
