I can't get it why you still don't have lots of subscribers. I guess, it's just a question of time. Keep up doing such great job! Thank you.

Vladimir Nazarenko thank you so much! subscribers might be confused why i make a guitar video one day, CAD video the next, and a slingshot video the day after lol. All in good fun!

I subscribed today. As soon as I found this. Now I'll have to check out the slingshot videos.

Great tutorial. Colin Meloy is such a great musician and story teller; got to love that Portland music scene.

Wonderful instruction style. Thorough, but succinct. A very accessible and effective lesson for the campfire strummers among us. Thank you!

Really appreciate the video, Alex! Been super helpful learning with all the intricacies rather than just the chords from a tab. This song's absolutely gorgeous and I'm happy to be able to do it justice

The jumbo with maple back and sides and maple neck give that guitar a balanced tone even though the body is jumbo.

How woukd you compare this gibson jumbo to your Emersld x30?
@alextryan4 жыл бұрын
hey i missed this question! and a great question. off the cuff, i'd say the J200 has a broader, smoother sound -- i often think "pure" when I play it -- vs the X30 which has its own character with deeper lows and a little more sparkle in the highs. I'll actually being comparing those two guitars in an upcoming video, should be a few weeks down the road.

Brilliant stuff mate, the only thing I can think of as providing feedback on is: could you have a play through!? You've broken it down expertly, especially little licks/embellishments, but just in terms of getting a proper handle on the transitions a full-ish play through would be super appreciated! For some reason I have a complete mental block going back into the verse O_o - otherwise, bravo! Cracking stuff

That's a great point I hadn't thought of. Thank you for the tip, I'll mind it in the future!

@@alextryan Thank you! I meant to come back to this because you do a fair run through - it's my peasized brain that can't put everything together as quickly as you!

@@donmega054 I re-watched this vid, imagining if I were trying to learn from it. I do blur over some of the strum patterns, skip the connections you mentioned, and omit a few other parts that could be helpful. It's an interesting challenge, deciding where to pitch a tutorial. I appreciate your feedback on this and will try to be more mindful in future vids.
