Dude. This song is definitely in D, not Db. No one would write it that way, especially George Michael, who played all the parts on it, not being a pro piano player. All this work and we have to transpose everything up a half step!

I may be wrong, but it sounds like it’s somewhere in between. When I try to play it in D it sounds just slightly sharp. They probably slowed down the tape or something when mastering it.

Actually the original is SMACK DAB between those two keys. The synth patch they used is a slight bit higher than D but lower than C#, so we went with our choice :)
