Thank You for saying that the song uses different inversions! For us visual learners, when the explanation takes more than a couple of seconds some of us (ME) lose track of what is going on. You are an excellent teacher, it's just that my mind will not stay focused long enough to follow the normal course of teaching. (Guess that's why I quit school in the 10th grade and took the GED school just moved too slowly for my non-normal brain. lol

I’m up to what SimplyPiano laughingly call intermediate 4. This is so difficult for me to follow without the scrolling staff! The mention of minor 6ths and inversions, playing notes an octave apart makes me realise how little I know and need to change how I’m learning. Maybe I’ll give Pianote a try when my SimplyPiano subscription ends?

The sheet music is just a simplified version of what he is playing. Usually just the root in the bass and major triad in treble. He is just adding extra octaves and the 5th in for extra flavor.

Wondering if you make any tutorials for beginners 😅 this is a beautiful song and u play it so good but it’s hard for my to do more than 3 keys in each hand , practice practice I guess ! Thanks
@cafekerouac3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for doing this, it is reall appreciated. I would say I'm an intermediate beginner. I find this method of teaching very confusing. It's too fast. Try breaking it down one hand at a time. You use chord inversions but don't explain which one they are. The chord chart is not the same as the chords you use. Also please play the full song at the end.

Please write what youre actually playing on the sheet music. There are 4 notes at the same time on the sheet and you always play 5 or 6... Am i missing something or...?
@PianoteOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Hi - so Jordan is often playing 5ths in his left hand, even though the sheet music only shows one note. So that just means playing the note that is 5 steps above the one on the page. For a C, that's G, for an F that's C etc.

I wish you would check the manuscript music. It is written different to what you were playing. For example pause at 10.37. The left hand is IMPOSSIBLE to play as written because the G F C on the left hand are already being played on the right hand - the very same notes! Why was this written like that? Also in the first bar eg at 10.31 you weren't playing it as it is written on the left hand.

Every time i come here i always find some lessons difficult for me to understand because they do not do ''real'' break down of chords or notes etc. For example he said, chord progression, Am chord and plays, A and E on left hand. I refer this as a small example. Please Remember lessons are for begginers, otherwise i would not be here if i knew.

Just show each beat fingerings. Don’t need to see you playing piano. Don’t need video. Just present it in a manner similar to tab for guitar. Then we don’t have to constantly pause the video to look closely at what you’re doing.
