Hello Dave, while I was sitting down to this lesson and playing along with you the message popped up... You know, this is n o t April 1st! Will always remember that moment and where I was and what I was doing - when I got to know: John Frusciante rejoins the Red Hot Chili Peppers... This is the place and in the sentiment of the hour let me say thank you. Thank you for creating this wonderful channel and everything that you share with us, as a great person and incredible guitarist. Now that there are hopefully new Chili Peppers songs to come, new work is to be done :-)

That was a incredible lesson video. Completely laid bare the way to play with no filler, lots of excellent pacing and importantly not just the notation but the style to achieve the sound. You should be proud of that one. It was so good I was pausing the video to just play the bits you'd taught me in a bare few sentences and the other half I was playing along with you. You're a great teacher. I think my best compliment is that I never rewound the video. Felt like each section saw the perfect amount of repetition so I could just pause, play it a bit by myself, then play along with the video, etc.

I love these kind of lessons that encapsulate so many different techniques. If your rhythm and counting are as bad as mine you can spend ages just trying to get the verse down. Then there's getting clean/accurate staccato with chords. Then you're hitting multiple strings but sounding only one note. Only a verse in and core skills are being massively improved upon. "Quite simple, but not easy"

Love the videos Dave. I'm intrigued to know how I would go about learning the face-melting style of soloing Fruciante has. Obviously most of his solos very melodic but I'm not sure where to begin when it comes to learning and improvising his fast - in your face soloing style like he did in his live shows.
