First thing I would do with it? Put it on “HOLD” hit a high Gm chord, then play the entire intro to “Shine on you crazy diamond.”

30 watt or 2 watt. Does that means its really loud or really quiet?
@thedavesimpson20 минут бұрын
2 watts quiet, 30 is loud.

Great video Dave as usual - looking to get a a Katana amp - like the sound of this gen 3 Artist - is it loud enough for a covers band or would I be better off with the 2x12 model
@thedavesimpson21 минут бұрын
Its definitely loud enough.

I must admit, sounds great, I do find that the treble should be renamed-thin and painful for the audience I agree with the volume rolling, that’s all I do nowadays, fuck pedals 👍

Great stuff, wish you'd do the cream sound on a budget. Inspiring, definitely trying out some eastcoast guitars cos of your gd self

Problem is these amps need cranking. Which means you need an attenuator. But if you use a cheap attenuator it can mess with the sound of the amp you can lose top end. So you have to spend big bucks on a high end attenuator. Or compensate by boosting it with an eq pedal

I've cursed the damn Super Crush in the last couple years when trying to use it for heavy rock acdc type of stuff or high gain metal metallica sorta shiza... but after just recently accepting that it's a much better bluesy / low gain crunch hendrixy style amp and dialing it in to suit that sort of genre. OMG it sounds SO GOOD for the sort of stuff you're playing all the time. NOW I understand... THIS is what it's meant for. Nice!

You need to plug that ce1in stero with this and Jubilee then record both amps left and right panned.

Dear Dave, you can make anything sound like a million dollars, but this "studio" thing is a great tool. I really admired the way it took pedals! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thing it sounds a little bright (especially in DI) - compared to your tone - better suited for studio work where you can "dehisssssssssss" it 😊. Great demo as always! 👍

Epic playing as ever! ❤ Considering its an amp you hadn't liked previously, you made it sound like you and it was fantastic! Do you think this would be loud enough to gig?

You’ve seen the light you are switching to tube amps ? 😉😂 I wouldn’t mind the plexi one but it’s too loud for home

I’m not lugging around stacks anymore. Forget it. The Katana Gen 3 Artist is very close to your favorite tube amp and it is loud and relatively light.

I gigged in front of over 500 people with one of those. Just used a mic like you are. The tone of those trans-tube amps are amazing. I also like what you're playing here. It's very tranquil. I hope your amp is still working for you. Mine developed a bad buzz, after my Brother-in law plugged his Keyboard into it. I have a line 6 now. It's decent but not as good. Peace.. Joe

I had the combo version of this one. It was really treble-y and boxy sounding, likely because of the 10" speaker. From what I hear, the person I sold it to really likes it, which is good.

Personally, I'd use the EQ knobs, but I can certainly understand why you're not. I mean, you're getting the sound in your head without using them, and isn't that what we're all striving for (getting the sound in our head) when we start playing? Good luck on tour mate. I hope it parlays into something bigger. ✌️🇦🇺

I was going to ask your opinion of the DSL1 but you gave it freely, thanks i think. BTW your playing especially around the 11.40 mark is wonderful.

Where to start? Ok, I thought you didn’t like tube amps. I’ve heard you say you really like digital amps like the Boss Katana etc. Do you only like Marshall tube heads? And, how does this amp compare to your new Silver Jubilee? I thought the tones were really smooshed at the first part with the Guild but the rest of it sounded great. I heard the fizz here and there. BTW I bought a new Guild Aristocrat with hollow body and P90s. I know they have the one with humbuckers but I wanted to try something different. It’s an incredibly well made guitar 🎸. Still getting used to the transition from my favorite 💘 MIJ ST62. Another great demo in your book 📖✅. 👍☮️🌞🎸🎵⭐️

I got the sc20 combo last year in a swap for a few pedals that can’t have been worth more than £400, bargain! I run this at the same time as my orange AD15 and it sounds pretty amazing! Great video as always Dave, and enjoying the red giant album 😊
