I know I got some Flak from my friends about me trying to replicate MM's playstyle, but man, it works. I know I am definitely not even close but I try to do the basics as best as possible. The majority of my Air-Rolling would be for Shadow Defense and Recoveries. I might do adjustments after a speedflip but that's it. But when I play some custom games with my friends, one complaint that I get is that I am always there, always ready, why am I there LMAO, because I learned to play the game at higher ping so I always had to prioritize being in the right position as opposed to relying on speed to get me there. These days, I don't get to play as much but its so fun learning from your videos. Keep up the great work!

Haha that is awesome to hear, I had a similar thing when I was younger I was playing TFC on 200+ ping, so it taught me how to read ahead much better than most other players, great job! :)

Studying MM's midfield play was the reason my awareness increased exponentially in a very short time frame. Once I unlocked that 'hack' the entire game opened up for me. Dave's system is built around the same philosophy and I love that we all instinctively came to the same conclusions about the true fundamental way to play the game. If you try the pacifist system and only learn one thing, learn the midfield game. You won't regret that.

Dave quality content as always. Moved to Germany recently and since i didnt have my PC i was forced to play on my brother's ps4. Initially it was a horrible experience but it forced me to play smart. Made a huge difference to my play style mostly playing fundamentals as you said . The blue prints you have created are top tier. You are undoubtedly a GOAT in your own right. Much love brother , stay well

That is awesome, I don't really know much about football funnily enough, so would like to learn a bit more about this play to see the varieties they try and use, thanks for pointing that out! :)

Ok I understand what you mean when you say play faster now. How would you recommend people adjust from defending deep in net to defending between the 2 pads Infront of net (I think I was already doing this before I took a break , now watching the new road to GC series n defending the way you were showing for diamond ranks feels harder to do for me but I'm guessing that's a positioning issue n not realising when I should be challenging)in position to jump up n try block opponents double tap attempts. Or would it be better to be on the backboard? So do fundamentals faster without having myself be stupid fast , out of position n out of boost n positioning. I think I dive more when I speed up so gotta get out of that habit n if I'm diving then I'm too fast for me to think. That and deep net defending I need to work on too since it does work when you know how to do it
@AirChargedGamingАй бұрын
Absolutely, because realistically, the fundamentals fast, a lot of the time require you to actually stop moving to remain in a solid position. Ideally we want quick execution once we get the ball, but when defending its just pure fundamental positioning to get the possession from the opponent. To do what you just described, the best thing is basically driving out into a power slide and then playing like a goal keeper that will defend whilst going into the net. RW9 is the best example of this I can think of currently, hopefully that explains it, if not let me know :)

VIT is going to be good, but MM doesn’t peak in online events the same way he does on LAN, and EU is way too deep for a G2 style run of dominance from any team for very long. Thanks for the video though, I’m only partway in but really enjoying it. Gotta study EU and learn from the best even though I’m NA.
@AirChargedGamingАй бұрын
Thank you! Yeah that is a fair statement. Sometimes I wonder if MM isn't really peaking, its just that he is so consistent in his approach that the pressure takes everyone's mechanics away whilst he is able to do his thing, definitely worth looking into :)

is it possible u can make a video about how to play like atow he is my favorite player and i think he is skill wise the best in the world. my peak is 2050 and im trying to climb up to 2.2-2.3k and maybe even top 100 someday

Is it me or does it look like air rolling gets you to the ball quicker? Or am I tripping?
@rebelaqua8232 ай бұрын
Slower. Tornado spin wastes boost and slows you down. Take most direct path to ball and air roll last second to adjust if required.
@EpicSpence2 ай бұрын
What you often see is a fast jump inside an air roll, which isn't actually possible without a tiny break in air roll input. Any additional speed is from the fast jump. Air roll doesn't contribute to climb speed or lateral speed. It only helps maintain speed if chasing a first touch because for some reason there is less recoil from the ball when your car is rotating. Mechanical players make it look easy and seamless. I gave up trying to learn this, plain old fast jump with air roll as the ball is touched works just fine.
@AirChargedGamingАй бұрын
Hard to say quicker, but its positional, in some situations if you are heavily pressed and off at an angle an air roll could help you get your nose to the right direction quicker and more efficiently than if you lent back then tried to angle ur car sidewards for example. Basically the quicker you can aim the nose to where you want the quicker your aerial will be.

Saw it live and in person. Kind of sad the way the crowd treats bds, with all the booing and jeering, when they played so well. Sometimes the regional rivalries go a little too far in my opinion.
@AirChargedGamingАй бұрын
Sounds incredible to be there live! To be fair though, the pressure isn't on the ones being boo'd. I always loved to be the under dog and the one not being rooted for when I competed in sports. I do think the boo's in rocket league are a bit crazy as nobody is really playing the heel. I wish there was some bigger personalities though, there would be so much you could do :D

Looks like Monkey moon is about 60% pacifist without realising. Remember though that these are all immature kids who play, so you cant expect too much discipline from them all the time.
@AirChargedGamingАй бұрын
Or maybe the Pacifist system is 60% MM, with realising ;). Well at the pro level I feel we see a lot of discipline. But I also find that just because someone is younger doesn't mean they are immature and vis versa
