the concept and the theory is easy to understand but, man , how you play this ? this extremely touchy, i wish you could give some really simple exercices to work on all the variations you do when you play the chords, to learn step after step how have this gospel feeling. I'm french and dont have this culture (i come from the jazz) but i'd love to learn how to have your skills

For instance, take the first chord in the progression… the CMinor seven chord.....How did you know that that was an inverted E flat major seventh chord and not just a C minor chord?

Take an ebmaj7 chord and invert it you'll see that the c minor chord is one of the inversions.
