More Pigpen tunes please. You work hard for us Davvy. Thank you for one of the best parts of my day.

You should do a series on the solo sections of some of these songs
@Timlin9373 жыл бұрын
In the meantime. Stick to "frying pan" pentatonics. WIDE OPEN, except: Add the third of the I on the I. On the IV, the root is solid but jerry liked to bend into the 3rd on this tune (6 to 7 bend on the B string) right before the root. Then on the V, jump out of the pentatonic scale and grab the fifth of the V.... a "/4~~~" on the G sting for where "Scare you..." would be.

The lessons are great as always, I was wondering have you thought about maybe doing a video about how gerry uses his scales for soloing, like how to use mix over the chord changes and stuff?
@TobyDavvy3 жыл бұрын
I have put some thought into videos like that. And maybe down the line I could see myself maybe doing a few like that for certain tunes. But there are a lot of channels (that are also a lot bigger than me atm) that do the whole “in the mind of Jerry” stuff and break down his playing and specific solos and stuff like that and I’m not really trying to jump in that lane right now while we’re growing. And honestly, man, I don’t know theory that in depth. I mostly play by ear and feeling. I know that I’m jumping between mixolydian, dorian and pentatonic, and I know what key I’m in, but being able to put that into words and convey those ideas to others escapes me right now. It’d be a lot of “and then you just catch that wave, make it fluttery and paint with broad strokes.” Haha, and I don’t know if that’s actually helpful.
@oisincassidydawson30763 жыл бұрын
@@TobyDavvy ah I see what you mean, ye it's just cause I'm starting to learn how to solo In mix as alot of dead songs kinda need it for a decent solo. But either way keep up the great work. Loving the tuts

I put these in both guitars- www.amazon.com/dp/B074DB9LBW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PXznFbG9ZBN4G Are they cheap? Hell yes. But do they sound better than the 30+ yr old pups I had? Infinitely.
