How to Play Naruto and Sasuke in Dungeons & Dragons (Anime Build for D&D 5e)

Today we have a build for Naruto and Sasuke from the Naruto anime in Dungeons & Dragons. If you want to become a hokage, use ninjitsu, or charkra type powers in D&D 5e, these builds put them together in two very different ways.

I personally would go with Astral Self for a chakra cloak and Celestial Warlock for the healing for Naruto (Not a perfect fit for Kurama but he’s technically part of Kaguya who’s kind of a god) but this build works pretty well.

on the topic of bright orange jumpsuit, my brothers and I have come to the conclusion that ninja, just like deer, are not able to perceive bright orange, instead seeing it as a kind of gray, which is why deer hunters can wear safety vests and still be camoflauged.

Given that all the adult ninja can sense chakra, I was under the impression that they’re supposed to blend in with civilians with their lack of non-realistic stereotypical ninja clothes. Because real ninja wear whatever let’s them blend and no ‘real’ ninja would wear orange 😂

A bit more Constitution for Naruto would have been good, in OG he seems more like he had more Con than Dex, as he was like, Took a punch, make shadow clones, take another punch, now start dodging. But hey, this is a pretty good build, well done dude

This should be good. I've actually been hoping to see Naruto character builds for a while now, but didn't know what to expect because while most characters in the show can be defined as more wizard than monk or rogue, it's very difficult to fit in all the details of the protagonists.

Yes! I love Naruto and made some builds of how this two could be, and I was pretty close with my Naruto being eighteen levels of celestial warlock (although archfey makes more sence, good one there Tulok) with one of monk and fighter, and as for Sasuke I went nineteen school of bladesinging wizard and one fighter.

Naruto was the Anime that started with the use of subtlety, tools, strategy and hand-to-hand combat were more important than techniques. Jutsu was a complement to something more subtle. Shippuden was already moving away from the rules (which I found to be relatively "rigid) established in Classic Anime: even a stronger opponent can be defeated if you manage to trick him or hide your weakness or use some tactics against him. But in Shippuden there were elements that prevented the opportunity for any tactic to overcome the invincible opponent. Example: Susanoo, meteors, atomic explosions, wood giants, divine eyes.

As a a test to see if making anime characters with ridiculous powers was possible in D&D, I made Naruto and Sasuke. Surprisingly, a Monk 11 (Astral Self) / Bard 6 (Lore) / Fighter 3 (Echo Knight) worked better than I expected to replicate Naruto's abilities. It's MAD enough to where you don't expect it to work, but it's crazy high persuasion and perception match up with what Naruto is good at. For Sasuke he's a Monk 7 (Shadow) / Wizard 13 (Bladesinger. He needs his theme song playing). Monk for teleporting and countering mind control and wizard for fireball (naturally), eye powers, and other jutsu. Posting this before watching. Can't wait to see what you create. Edit: Huh, a lot more spell focused on Naruto than I thought. Monk + Hex looks great for consistent damage though. Didn't consider that. I did add mirror image for clones, but ended up including fighter because it's the Naruto subclass and action surge feels like a main character ability. I went Bard because of how much he convinces people with words so bardic inspiration felt right. Also additional magic secrets for Chromatic Orb (multi flavor rasen-shirken) and conjure animals (two giant toads). I felt like Naruto throws hand and rasengan more than anything else so I didn't really focus on spells too much. Astral arms for the kurama tails. I know you usually make characters human who are human, but I made him a bugbear to boost that range on kurama's tails up to 15 ft and enlarge/reduce to make that 20ft if needed for kurama avatar. Completely whiffed on realizing how many skills Sasuke has. Also that early martial arts feels right up sasuke's alley. Glad to see you also thought of illusory dragon and draconic transformation for the Susano'o. Yep Wizards man. Get all the spells and just prep what you need. I didn't think of spell mastery for the permanent shield and teleporting. I just went shadow monk for teleporting and evasion since fireballs never hurt anyone, including their caster.

While I feel Tulok build on Sasuke is more accurate then your own... I totally didn't realize Monk Astral Self fit naruto a lot! If I had to make a Naruto build, I might fix your two ideas for a Naruto build and make something like Monk Astral Self 12 and Warlock 8 build for Naruto! But I would pick Pact of the Talisman to represent Tsunade necklace she gave him or the pact of the familiar to get a toad familiar and the Gift of the Ever-Living Ones incantation lol! Can't tell you how long I've been waiting for these builds! I was expecting an Astral Self build for Sasuke, but Bladesinger does fit incredibly well. Wonder if we'll ever get an Itatchi or an Obito build? I can see Obito being a Genie Warlock (Efreeti) to get some personal space (Kamui) and a couple of other benefits he'd need (Fire Nature 'Jutsu' like Fireball, Illusions like Hallucinatory Terrain, Major Image, Hypnotic Pattern, etc), Flock of Familiars for all his damn Ravens, then Astral Self the rest of the way? At least enough to get Body of the Astral Self at level 11.

20:38 Here's me missing the plot as this statement just gave me an idea for an evil spell combo. As a Sorcerer, cast mass suggestion on as many peasants as possible and tell them to dig a big deep hole. Use higher lvl spell slots if needed to keep everyone. Once the hole in the soft dirt is nice and deep, and the nearby mounds of dirt are sufficiently big, use a spare 7th or higher spell slot to cast earthquake as centered on the hole as possible for its full duration. If the mouth of the hole is bigger than 100ft radius, then aim it so as much dirt as possible will fall back in the hole. I call this combo: Mass Grave

I always thought they would both be divine soul sorcerers because of the reincarnation cycle. I also thought echo knight for Naruto, or taking enough in sorcerer to use glibness as tall-no-jutsu. And vortex warp would be a great one to throw on Sasuke's list to act as a rinnegan teleportation. Also, surprised no alert or observant feat. Still love what you've done with the builds as always. Are any of these double builds going to use the sidekick rules?

Can you please start introducing other race choices as an alternative to Custom lineage and Variant human as most of your vids seem to use these races which in my experience if there is 1 thing a DM limits its removing Vhuman and Custom Lineage due to not wanting players to have a feat choice at creation. I am not trolling as I have been watching your channel for years. I realize this isn't a big deal but given your exp and time you have spent creating characters I as well as other would be interested in hear your opinion for non feat races on the builds. I tried making naruto and went with monk/ trickster cleric, the evoke duplicity worked a lot as a shadow clone and you get a lot of the same spells. I think naruto is wise over charismatic because most people hate him or find him annoying to begin with. You could also throw in some echo knight levels but you need to be at least 9th level Monk.

That's a great build for Naruto, but here me out, what about: Echo Knight Fighter + Trickster Cleric + Way of the Astral Self Monk + any Rogue. Now imagine that you can create an Echo of youself, and each Echo can Invoke a Duplicity, and each duplicate can Summon an Astral Self, and all of them gain advantage and Sneak Attack bonuses, basically surrounding your enemies with a whole army of clones/copies, lol.

I enjoyed this quite a bit! Part of me wants to request some old stars, like Gene Starwind, or Vash the Stampede, even though Gunsligers can be a bit one-way in 5e, and their guns are...special. on the other hand, more recent anime I have been watching make me want to say Kelvin from Black Summoner. In truth, I HATE Summoners, in D&D; if you want to call up the monster, play that, instead of the half-mage you are while throwing some eidolon/Pokémon around, but I feel he is more a party member who actually dies his own stuff, and buffs his (contracted) allies, which can be a fun thing if you don't want to just be the damage dealer. A good scheme of how to play an efficient party buffer, in 5e, could be very useful!

I came in expecting maybe some Echo Knight levels for Naruto's Shadow Clones, and maybe Oath of Vengeance Paladin for Sasuke, though I admittedly do not know nearly as much about either of those classes as I do Monks, Wizards, and Warlocks (Warlock absolutely works for Naruto, just wish they had more pact options to allow you to seal your patron inside of yourself).

I have a 3.5/pathfinder build for sasuke, that didn’t start as a sasuke build, but when I realized it I locked it away never to see the light of play. From Wu-Jen it takes the 2nd level Lightning Blade spell, and any number of summon monster (vipers for con dmg), cloning and utility spells, then swordsage for Fire style jutsu and @#properninjashit, and finish out with jade phoenix mage if you wanna play a nonevil sasuke. The Lightning Blade spell acts like a weapon for its duration so you can launch maneuvers with it as far as I know

I can relate to the chase of something precious, my Tangle the lemur build request from Sir Tulok is an unlikely hunt (btw please), but one shall triumph in the name of love...wha- they are just friends? No lovers? But what about the whole kiss thing?! Orphans on their origins and with a lot to prove to achieve their goals, the rivalry trope is a classic that can go ballistic in it's delivery, for the journey of the kid housing a demon and other looking to achieve the power of one both travel different paths, Naruto Uzumaki one of friendship and trust not only on others but on itself, while Sasuke Uchiha a trail filled with inner hatred for a promise written in blood, both to become beacons a top of the hardships towards a better tomorrow, is almost like in another time or life they were brothers, broken by differences but still bonded with something stronger. No matter what path you choose the path to become a living nuke is long, so pack some omusubi with okaka and a bowl of Ichiraku ramen fighting your rival can be tiring and you might go to extremes sometimes.

Sasuke couldve also been made into a vengeance paladin too, his chidori couldve been an inflict wounds, can get that with shadow touched or something, and then elemental weapon to hav his lightning cloaked sword, and then smites to make that lightning blade even more lightning. Aura of protection can be both beneficial to him as at one time, he did just went through alot of bs things and managed to "make alot of his saves" and also, keep in mind you dont actually have to share the bonus with the party, to make him more stubborn and selfish, and then share it with the party when he opens up again

@@riccardoconti6682 fair! But reason why inflict wounds feels really chidori like, is just coz its really is just a chidori. You concentrate chakra/magic in your hand, and make it a deadly point, and you really just jam your arm into someone to chidori them. Sasuke does make his lightning blade more into a sword, but yeh. Thats what i did with my kakashi build too,. Lv17 arcane trickster rogue with again, shadow touched for chidori, was super fun

Oh! What about Seath the Scaleles? Dragonborn, probably sourserer, I think multiclass with warrior rune knight(for Moonlight Greatsword) or warlock(for tails-tentacles and minions he created in archive), with high intelligence and... Yeah, probably his charisma will be eight. I'm not shure about how to make crystal magic though. Or maybe build something from Warhammer. P. S: just remembered about multiclassing minimums. So Seath will most likely be artificer(combat forge)-wizard dragonborn(this stays the same.)

What I would have done Naruto: Custom lineage point buy str 12, 8 dex, 14+2 con, wisdom 14, charisma 14+1, int 8 Starting feat: Fey touched(+Gift of alacrity spell) Hexblade Warlock 1, Barbarian 1, Graslands COL druid 18 Hexblade warlock gives cha to attack and damage, which allows us to focus on some stats while dropping the others. Naruto who above skill and intellect is about GUTS, charisma to A/D stats is awesome. Also shield, Armor of agyths is also another spell for bijuu cloak manipulation, but defensive. Snatch eldritch blast, chill touch, and what will be or bijuu arms, Arms of Hadar. Barbarian 1 is to mainly give him con to AC. Naruto has always been hearty, and his outstanding ability to tank and keep going is archetypal of him. You get rage too, which can do the whole bijuu thing. 18 levels of druid allow him to fully wildshape into say... a Giant spellcasting fox. Druid gets ALL their spells so you take wind spells, Summon spells so you can have frog kuchiyose feats to get are war caster, magical initiate x2 [for bard and wizard] and tough For sasuke, I would have just done 3 levels of battlesmith/ 17 bladesinger

Everytime Tulok needs to do an extremely busted character like Sephiroth, Future Trunks and Sasuke he goes for Bladesinger Wizard... Maybe that's something to say about this class

The funny thing about the “wind resistance” joke is that at the superhuman speeds Naruto Series shinobi are moving, the change in wind resistance based on their running posture *actually would make a difference, and the Naruto Run would legitimately be faster/more energy efficient.*
