@big potato games When you already have a set of a color on your plate I have a question. Let’s say it’s red. If you collect another set of two red + one grey would the buns go back in the bag? Or do you have to wait until you get three red + a grey for them to go back? What happens if it is two red and two grey? I understand the normal rule that once you get a combo of 4 of a color with greys they would go back in the bag just have the quark on regarding when you already have a set of that color on your plate.

If you already have a set of red, you have to wait until you get 3 red to return it to the kitchen, stinky bun or not. Any stack of 4 goes directly to the kitchen as well, so two reds plus two stinky buns is a stack of four and goes into the kitchen.

If you have say two blues, two reds, plus a fish bun… if you were to draw another fish bun, does that make four of both and you loose all your cards, or do you just lose one set. If you just lose one, which one?

Hi guys! Just got this game and wanted to know, can a fish head bun infiltrate your plated buns? Like your already existing sets of 3? Or once you have your set on a plate it's safe?

I have a question regarding the grey fish heads. So my family played last night and its great but we sort of had to come up with a few rules ourselves. When you get the dice to give someone something, can you give them a grey fish head? The same with put one in the bag, could you put the grey fish head back in the bag? And also steal, could you steal one in order to get 4 if you're wanting to get rid of buns you may already have a fish head on?

If you are playing 2 players and you roll the swap a bun option, but one of the players has no buns what happens?

I assume if you ended up with 2 sets of three of the same colour one set would remain and re-enter the steamer bag if you acquired a 4th or is it impossible to get 2 full sets of the same colour from other players swappings etc.?

You wouldn't be able to add another full set of the same colour to your plate.

Hi! We got into a fight tonight because we couldn’t agree what would happen: If you have 2 red buns and then get a 3 and a „swap buns“ symbol on the dice and pull out another 2 red buns- does the set of 4 go back into the bag immediately, even though you have not used up all the dice in your round? Since you don’t have any buns left you wouldn’t be able to swap any buns. Is this right? Or would you put the 3 red buns on the plate immediately before the round ends and be left with one red bun to swap?

Hi Mais. So remember to resolve dice in size order (which it sounds like you are) and do your actions one by one. Meaning if you pull out a red bun first, you can put that directly onto your plate, yay! Then you pull out two other buns one by one and then you can swap one of those with the remaining players - hope this helps!

If one player draws a second fishhead bun, does that join the stack of the first fishhead or the second biggest stack?

Technically the grey bun sits on them both. It then attaches to whichever colour you collect more of, so that when you have three of one colour, it creates four of a kind, meaning you have to get rid of all those buns! Hope this helps.

If you have no buns in your hand and you get the swap/trade would you get to take someone else's (i.e. swap your 0 for someone's 1)

I have no idea about this one but when i play we just skip that action since there's nothing to swap/trade for, kind of a blessing action if you have no buns lol

Not quite! The white buns are the fishhead buns that can ruin your set.

If you get the swap icon or trade icon on the large dice, can you swap your fish buns into someone else's pile? Or can they only be removed via getting 4 buns?

You sure can! It's a pretty mean way of getting rid of your grey buns but it works

As a fan of Big Potato games, I am a little disappointed that the bun/bao theme doesn't really shine through and I am a little confused why you would call the white buns "fishhead buns" as they don't really exist and fishhead is a cuisine is many Asian cultures so to just call them "stinky" may be a little insulting to those cultures. Not jumping to conclusions with regards to this but would love to hear from the team if that issue came up.

Hey Joel, glad to hear that you’re a Big Potato fan! Thanks for your feedback - in our test plays, fish heads came out as something you wouldn’t expect or necessarily want in a bao bun. We definitely don’t want to be culturally insensitive and we involve lots of different people in our game development to help ensure this isn’t the case. We've raised this with the team though, and they'll be looking into it. Big Potato x
